Shiretoko Peninsula in eastern Hokkaido has so many attractions and wildlife to see, tours to join in. And along the road there are many outstanding tourist info centers that are actually like museums, with animals and info-walls and games for kids to play and learn, with samples to try, souvenirs and shops, restrooms and often free WiFi and you can enter for free! I am really impressed to what extent they are beautiful and modern and they provide pamphlets and info in English! Totally worth a stop especially on a rainy day when there is not much else to do!

北海道東部、知床半島に位置する羅臼町（らうすちょう）の様子です。
知床半島は世界自然遺産に指定されていて多くの観光客が訪れます。
漁業が大変盛んな町ですがロシアが実効支配している国後島が対岸にある為、国境の町でもあります。
「北の国から２００２遺言」の舞台にもなった町です。
It is a state of Rausu located eastern Hokkaido, the Shiretoko Peninsula. Many tourists visit it have been designated a World Natural Heritage Site is the Shiretoko Peninsula.
In addition, it is one of the areas many brown bears in the world. The town is a thriving fishing very much because there is on the opposite shore Kunashir Russia has effective control, it is also a border town.

Hokkaido Japan Day 7 | Sunayu Onsen, Shiretoko Bear Country and Melody Road
This is Day 7 of living in a van in Japan, traveling all over Hokkaido the north island of Japan. Today we went from Lake Kussharo to Nemuro and slept in the van at another random parking lot. This was our first full rainy day in Hokkaido but still turned out amazing. We saw the red crowned crane in the wild, many deer, a geyser and much more.

Hokkaido “Shiretoko” registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in July 2005. This peninsula in eastern Hokkaido is Shari-cho town on the west side and Rausu-cho town on the east side. It is Utoro of Shari-cho town that becomes base of Shiretoko sightseeing, and eight scenic spots that are easy to access from here are popular and called “Shiretoko Hakkei”.

記録的大雪の東京府中（2014年2月15日）State of suburbs of Tokyo with recordable heavy snow.
45年ぶりの記録的大雪から一週間、2月14日から2月15日にかけて関東甲信地方の内陸部を中心に2月8日を上回る大雪に見舞われました。
この映像は翌日の東京郊外、府中市（新宿から20㎞）の様子です。
山梨や秩父、群馬などでは1m以上の積雪となり大きな被害が発生しました。
特に山梨県は陸路が完全に孤立。この時の豪雪は後に平成26年豪雪と命名されました。

日本百名道、黄金道路 （北海度）海沿いドライブ Route 336
北海道十勝地方から日高地方にかけて黄金道路（国道336号線）を走った時の様子です。
建設費が道路に黄金を敷き詰められるほどかかった為、黄金道路と呼ばれています。
トンネルやシェルターの部分が多く通行止め回数の多さも北海道有数の多さですが景色が大変よく人気のドライブコースです。
