Shiroi Koibito Park in Sapporo
Shiroi Koibito is a popular Japanese confectionary originated from Hokkaido. During my stay in Hokkaido last winter, I visited the factory that reminds everyone to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think it is one of must visit places in Sapporo area
The cakes are awesome and the places are so magical~
Unfortunately most of the cakes cant be brought back to Indonesia because it doesnt last long as they dont use preservative. The products are so high quality and in fact I really want everyone to try it T ______ T

Ishiya Patisserie Chocolate Factory Sapporo Japan Shiroi Koibito Park Hokkaido Day Trip Review
Reviewing the Shiroi Koibito Park day trip (白い 恋人 パーク 工場 見学) . Japan Ishiya Patisserie Shiroi Koibito Park (白い 恋人 パーク) is a fantastic space based on the ideals of deliciousness, fun and stories of sweets from a bygone era. In addition to housing, the Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory (白い 恋人 工場) is where the well-known Hokkaido (北海道) confectionery is produced.
Shiroi Koibito (白い 恋人) cookies or the white lover cookies are made of a langue de chat which is a white cookie that’s baked until the edges brown. The carefully controlled oven temperature achieves a crisp bake. White chocolate is then sandwiched between the freshly baked langue de chat biscuits.
This chocolate is an original recipe made just for Shiroi Koibito (白い 恋人). Made with this great combination of langue de chat and their original chocolate recipe, Shiroi Koibito (白い 恋人) has been popular for over 40 years.
The Shiroi Koibito Park (白い 恋人 パーク) in Hokkaido (北海道) also has a cafe to allow visitors to savor Ishiya’s original sweets Shiroi Koibito (白い 恋人) cookies a.k.a white lover cookies, a toy exhibition room and the Rose Garden. The Shiroi Koibito Park day trip (白い 恋人 パーク 工場 見学) provides visitors the visual, taste and experiencing the “sweet” memories!
Hope you like this Shiroi Koibito Park Hokkaido day trip review.

Delicious Japanese food at Nijo Market & Sapporo Factory in Sapporo,Hokkaido, Japan!
Nijo Market
Nijo Market (二条市場, Nijō Ichiba) is a public market in central Sapporo that occupies about one city block. Both locals and tourists visit the market to shop for fresh local produce and seafood such as crabs, salmon eggs, sea urchin and various fresh and prepared fish.
The market is open from around 7:00 to around 18:00 on all days of the week, with individual shops maintaining their own opening hours and closing days. Several restaurants can be found among the shops, including a collection of small drinking places and restaurants along a narrow corridor called Noren Yokocho.
Address:
Japan, 〒060-0053 Hokkaido Prefecture, Sapporo, Chuo Ward, 南3条東1丁目〜東2丁目
Sapporo Factory
The Sapporo Factory is a complex that includes a shopping mall, office, multiplex movie theaters, and museum, located in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan. The building was formerly a brewery that belonged to the Kaitakushi, the old government of Hokkaidō prefecture, and later owned by the Sapporo Beer Company, the predecessor of the Sapporo Brewery. Currently, the Sapporo Factory is run by the Yebisu Garden Place, a subsidiary of Sapporo Holdings Ltd., and a real estate company. The original brewery building was built in 1876, and after the brewery ceased to function in beer production, the operations were moved to a new location in Eniwa, in 1993.

2019-09-13 Crawford - Unv. Toronto - Hokkaido Ainu
New Research Directions in Archaeology and Linguistic History of Hokkaido Ainu
Colloquium: September 13 | 3-4:30 p.m. | 2251 College (Archaeological Research Facility)
Speaker/Performer: Gary Crawford, University of Toronto
Sponsor: Center for Japanese Studies (CJS)
Over the last 30 years data related to ancestral Ainu material culture, settlement pattern, chronology, subsistence, genetics, and linguistics have provided new insight into their identity, origin, and relationships with the rest of Japan through time. In particular, palaeoethnobotany (the study of the relationships between plants and people) has been instrumental in conceptualizing the Satsumon and Ainu as populations with a complex history that included dry-field (rain-fed) agriculture rather than hunting-gathering alone or the diverse mix of wet-rice and dry-field production elsewhere in Japan. This complex history, partially revealed by the history of agriculture and the dispersion of crops to and within Northeastern Japan, involved long term, continued involvement and interactions with the rest of Japan. Furthermore, significant discontinuity marks the transition from Epi-Jomon to Satsumon so the Ainu are no longer considered an isolate of remnant Jomon (from a cultural perspective) in the Northeast.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Prof. Gary Crawford is an anthropological archaeologist specializing in archaeological botany and environmental archaeology. The field is known as palaeoethnobotany or archaeobotany. His current focus is East Asia where he is investigating the origins and intensification of agriculture. Actually, he’s never strayed far from East Asia, having first travelled to Japan in 1974. After working there for many years it was logical to begin focusing on China too, where he began to establish contacts in 1986. He has also investigated human and plant interactions in eastern North America (mainly Ontario and Kentucky with his first field experience being a foray into the wilds of Wisconsin). His work is informed by a comparative approach. The similarities and difference between Eastern North America and East Asia between 10,000 and 1000 years ago are especially intriguing.

Shiroi Koibito Park
Shiroi Koibito Park offers a lot to do and see. It offers factory tours, which allow visitors to see how Hokkaido’s leading confectionery “Shiroi Koibito” is made; a confectionery making workshop, in which participants make a 14cm heart-shaped “Shiroi Koibitio; and exhibitions on antique cups and the history of chocolate. The best time to see the rose garden in the courtyard is the summer. The park also features the “Chocolate Carnival,” a parade of mechanical dolls, which begins at the top of every hour, the “Shiroi Koibito Railway” trolley modeled after the Benkei steam locomotive, and the “Gulliver House,” which children can enter and play. Of course, there is also a store that sells “Shiroi Koibito” as well as a candy art specialty shop called “Candy Labo.”
Sapporo Beer Garden
The Genghis Khan Hall in its old glory is a red brick building with ivy climbing up the sides. Built in the year 23 of the Meiji era, it served as a government office building when the government was sending pioneers to Hokkaido. This profound historical building has an atmosphere that will give you an unique feeling every time you set foot inside.
As you enter the building, firewood lines the walls where a large and glowing fireplace stands and the aroma of the beer hall welcomes its guests.
Sapporo Factory
Sapporo Factory is a commercial complex including 160 stores and facilities, established in the historic site where beer was first brewed by Japanese.
Have a wonderful time in this dynamic shopping arcade, where each season brings new delights.
