Exploring Downtown Marigot St. Martin and Smoking a Cuban Cigar
This is a video I made that shows me walking around downtown Marigot, St. Martin and smoking a Cuban cigar.
First off, let me apologize that the video is so shaky!
I start off the video by visiting a local juice stand where I ordered a mango smoothie. It fresh and delicious.
I then take a stroll across to the Bay of Marigot and walk along the shoreline. I spotted a couple of Iguanas sunning themselves on the rocks but unfortunately I was unable to zoom in properly so you have to look closely.
After seeing the Iguanas, I took a stroll down to the Fort Louis Marina. I wasn't able to access the restricted areas but I did get a look at some of the boats and a catamaran that were docked outside the restricted zone.
After I left the Fort Louis Marina I continued my trek though downtown Marigot. I walked past a large and very expensive looking shopping mall but did not go in.
Instead I continued on to a local cigar shop to buy a Cuban cigar. The shop that I entered was definitely a tourist trap. They had permanent signs that advertised 50% off.
Inside the cigar shop in St. Martin I was greeted (more like supervised) by a woman with a scowl on her face.
I purchased one Montecristo Cuban cigar and another brand that you will have to watch the video to find out about. Let me warn you that the brand name is NSFW!
While it was fun to be able to purchase and smoke a Cuban cigar (In the USA you can't buy Cuban cigars) it really wasn't my thing. I don't really enjoy smoking but it was still a great experience to have.
The rest of the video is me walking past most of the restaurants and food stalls that are located in downtown Marigot and then along the bay side back toward my condo.
