An amazing show, first uses traditional fountains, then progresses onto a movie (Aladdin) using a curtain of water spray and projection. It really gets going just after 2.30 minutes.

Happens at weekends only and brings in 1000s of people each night.

LEADIN
An enterprising group of elderly people is dancing to a different tune in modern day Ukraine.
In the shadows of a subway the pensioners gather to find companionship and enjoy the music.
STORYLINE :
Several hundred elderly people meet in this Kiev subway to dance.
Some spin and twirl, other shuffle and slide.
Some of them dressed in traditional folk costumes, others in warm coats and fur hats.
They dance to music from accordion, tambourine and harmonica and many of them dancers sing along.
The elderly musicians are volunteers.
Dancer Oleksandr Ivanovych says he says the dances are open to almost everybody.
Anyone who wants to can come and dance here. The main rule is no drunks.
There are 13.7 (m) million pensioners in Ukraine. 8.5 (m) million of them get around a pension of 120 US dollars each month, which many of them struggle to live on.
During Soviet times, pensioners used to gather in restaurants or dance halls for regular dances.
Now there is no money for that and many of them are nostalgic.
These people are former teachers, medics, engineers, some of them are World War II veterans and many say they do not feel supported by the state.
But they all agree that the dances are a highlight of their weekend.
The dances are impromptu and locally organised and, as there are no authorised premises, the pensioners hold them in the nearby subway.
Dancer Lyuba says she feels the regular dancing improves her life.
Life is so hard, but we come and dance and feel relieved.
Passers-by look on with interest.
Maria says she enjoys watching the people dance.
People in the Ukrainian folk costumes dance and enjoy themselves here. I like it very much. I look at them and say to myself that life is good and it is good to be alive.

Dozens of locals flocked to one of the few ATM machines that had resumed working in Slavyansk Tuesday.

With many cash machines remaining empty for weeks, long queues of people waiting to take out cash in the city centre formed throughout the day, many people waited as long as 30 minutes to withdraw money.

The limit for each withdrawal stands at 1000 UAH (€70, $96).

News - A Rain Of Mercy in the Gobi Desert

Yesterday was an historic day in the Mongolian yatra. We performed harinam samkirtan for the first time in the country since 1992. In the early morning, when the Gobi desert sun was still tolerable, we took to the streets of Sainshand, a town of 23,000 people, with mrdungas, kartalas and the sweet chanting of Krsna’s holy names.The people loved it and chanted and danced alongside us.
