Jakhni Mata Temple, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh || Himachal Darshan ||

Jakhni Mata Temple is situated at the topmost point of Chandpur Village in Kangra district.It is dedicated to Devi Latti Jakhni.This holy shrine is situated about 5 kms from Palampur and 7 kms from Bundla Mata Temple. It is suggested to drive up to temple by car as it is a steep climb however, physically fit people can try hiking up to the temple. The temple is located at a vantage point, from where the view of the Dhauladhar range and Palampur civilization is simply spectacular. The temple is not crowded, has place for travellers to sit and have good darshan. Because of it's elevation, the view around the temple is particularly good.

A lovely mountain drive will take you to Jakhni Mata, a small temple situated on a hilltop with serene surroundings and offering awesome views of the valley. You will be welcomed by the sweet smell of pines and the soothing sound of wind cutting through the leaves of these trees. I really enjoyed the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the temple, which must have been because of its location amidst pine forest on a secluded hill away from the crowd, besides religious reasons.

Palampur is a hill station in India’s northern state of Himachal Pradesh. It’s known for its tea gardens like the Palampur Cooperative Tea Factory, which also processes the leaves. A waterfall drops into a stream at Bundla Chasm. Saurabh Van Vihar nature park has picnic spots, birdlife and views of the snow-capped Dhauladhar range.

Birni Devi Treks Start from Jakhni Mata devi near palampur himachal. Come from Palampur by Car or Road to Jakhani Devi temple 8km and 4.5km Onfoot trek in local trail to Birni devi temple. When you are going to Birni devi temple please pick food meal and water bottle during trek because there is no source for water and food.

Secondly pick your tent want to stay there and enjoy beautiful panoramic valley upto Baijanath to Kangra. During trek to Birni devi there is 2 base camp when you watch video you know that place First Base Camp near Birni village and second base camp near Birni devi temple.

Birni Devi Temple is a popular shrine in Palampur. The temple can be reached via Lohna, Upper Bundla and Gallu Langha. From Gallu Langha, there is a moderate trek for Birni Devi Temple, which takes from 3hrs to 5hrs to complete.

Perched on a hill, the temple overlooks the majestic Kangra Valley and offers a panoramic view of Dhauladhar range. The entire Palampur can be seen from here and with the help of a binocular, Baijnath town is also visible from here.

Wonder Temple in Himachal Pradesh, India - Simsa Mata Mandir

Maa Simsa Mandir or Simsa Mata Mandir is a Hindu temple located on the top of beautiful hills, 3000+ ft above sea level in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to the Sharada Devi.

It is located in the Simsa village, 30 km from the Baijnath town. The temple is very popular among the people of the Kangra and Mandi district during the Navratri.

Navratri Special:
The folklore about the setting of the temple is as usual what you find about so many temples of the country. But it is the faith of the devotees that makes this temple different.

During Navratri, many women come with a pure heart to the temple of Maa Simsa and sleep day and night in the temple, abstains from food and fasts, she has a dream – dream about either fruit that symbolizes the boon for a child. Strange but true, one hears countless accounts of women bestowed with kids after this experience. It is not that every woman is bestowed with a child but there are some cases where women don’t dream of fruits etc. In such cases, the woman has to leave the temple.

It is said that if a woman doesn’t leave the temple in spite of having a dream where her remaining childless is hinted at, she develops red patches on her body that itch a lot and the poor woman has to leave the bed. The temple is full of devotees – some coming to seek boons and others to pay their gratitude. The faith of the people, thronging the temple from far and wide, speaks a lot about the power of the unknown that still makes us wonderstruck at the wonders of nature.
