Shreveport Municipal Auditorium Tour: Past and Present
Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, constructed as a memorial to the servicemen of World War I, was built between 1926 and 1929. It is regarded as one of the finest examples of Art Deco construction in the State of Louisiana.
This segment of our video tour of Shreveport Municipal Auditorium features a brief overview of the building's history, including some insight into why the building was constructed. It also highlights the many civic purposes this building has served throughout the decades. Included are interviews with archivist Chris Brown, tour guide Lynn Laird and General Manager Sam Voisin.

Designed by noted architect Samuel Weiner, the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium is one of the finest examples of Art Deco-style construction in the State of Louisiana. Dedicated on Armistice Day, November 11, 1929, this treasured building was recently named a National Historic Landmark.

ELVIS Touring Shreveport,La Fair Grounds Auditorium , He Last Performed Dec 15 1956! I Got To It
Elvis also came back in the 70s and played 2 more times. He played the most here I believe then anywhere touring.
So I was able to finally get to the state fair grounds areana but yet inside. Due to they were selling hockey tickets for our team there & I need to call them to see if I can get in after holidays season is over. I did this video just to show you his last steps of where he played at the auditorium here at the Shreveport,La Fairgrounds & maybe even doughnuts at Souhter. Maids. (I WAS CORRECT HE ATE AT SOUTHERN MADE DOUGHNUTS HERE) SHOWS SO IN MY OTHET VIDEO.
It cost Elvis 10gs to get out his 1 yr contract he just signed. He wanted to go to other states, get more fans & more disc jockeys to play his records. He wanted to be more noticed around the world. He was also told to perform 1 more time as I'm sure he would of done anyway. He again came back 2 times in the 70s.
I did make it to the Municple Auditorium down town Shreveport & is Part 2 my next upload.So I hope you enjoy walking these steps with me, seeing some,I think, amazing part of history. That started for the Kind hearted loveable soul, King of R&R, Elvis Aaron Presley!

We visited the Asian Garden, the Cemetary, Municipal Auditorium area and made a new friend who escorted us on a roof top Photo Shoot.
