Colorado Summer Vacation 2015 ~ The Hurst Family HD 720p
My family traveled to Colorado for our Summer of 2015 vacation season, visiting Colorado Springs, Cañon City, Denver, and Estes Park. Key highlights include: The Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (and adjacent Shrine of the Sun), Pikes Peak via the Cog Railway, The Royal Gorge, Red Rock Canyon, Denver Aquarium, and, or course, the beautiful and expansive Roosevelt National Forest and Rocky Mountain National Park. It's amazing to see God's wonder and incredible wildlife in this beautiful region!
~ Many blessings to the lovely and talented Nicole C. Mullen for her song, Redeemer, which is featured in this video. ...Let all creation testify that this life within me cries...He lives! Amen! ~
~ I lovingly dedicate this video to the beautiful life-giving memory of Baby Eva Kay. Though she is no longer with us on Earth, her story is very much still being written. We wanted to celebrate her life on our vacation because her family has become very much an extension of our family. ~

Gore Range Mountain Goats
Here at the uppermost of several Willow Lakes, in the Gore Range at 11,400 feet, the mountain goat welcoming committee showed up shortly after I arrived. Willow Lakes in Eagles Nest Wilderness is a beautiful place. It's about nine miles to here starting on Rock Creek trail. I'd recommend it as an overnight backpacking trip, not necessarily as a day hike.
Through Clouds to Alma.
2010RoadTripUSA. Part 15. Through Coluds to Alma. August 25, 2010.
Music by R. Tilsley.
The historic Town of Alma is a Statutory Town located in Park County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 179 at the U.S. Census 2000.
At an elevation of approximately 10,578 feet (3,224 m), it is the second highest incorporated municipality in the United States. Alma, which took the title from Leadville, Colorado, held on to the number one spot until 2006 when Winter Park, Colorado, became the highest incorporated town due to its annexation of a ski area. Alma still has the highest developed municipality in the United States as Winter Park's claim to be the highest is due to their annexation of the ski area above the town and at the elevations above Alma's elevation the only development is ski lifts.
The town was named by a merchant named Mr. James, after his wife. (wikipedia)
US 285 runs for a few miles through the Denver metro area as Hampden Avenue then begins to climb into the Rocky Mountains, mostly following the route of the original narrow gauge transcontinental railroad, skirting the south side of the Mount Evans massif. Once west of Mount Evans, the highway winds its way over Kenosha Pass, elevation 10,001 feet (3,048 m), into the high-altitude South Park basin of Colorado.
Partway across the South Park, it serves the town of Como, which still houses one of the few remaining narrow gauge roundhouses. The old transcontinental railroad breaks away from US 285 at this point, going northwest over Boreas Pass en route to Breckenridge, the historically rich gold fields of Leadville, and eventually California. US 285, meanwhile, continues across the valley to the southwest, leaving the South Park basin as it climbs over Trout Creek Pass, elevation 9,346 feet (2,849 m), and then drops into the Upper Arkansas River Valley, with a view of Mount Princeton.
Once the highway hits the Arkansas River Valley floor, it takes a sharp turn south, just missing the small town of Buena Vista to the north. As US 285 turns south, it brushes Salida, climbs over Poncha Pass, elevation 9,012 feet (2,747 m), then enters the northern end of the San Luis Valley. (wikipedia)

Aaron and I on Mosquito Pass Colorado July 21 2013 near North London Mine
Mosquito Pass Colorado July 21 2013 elevation 13,185 ft (4,019 m) is a high mountain pass in the Mosquito Range of central Colorado in the United States. It lies on the boundary between Lake and Park counties between Leadville (west) and Fairplay (east). It also lies on the divide between the Arkansas and South Platte Rivers, which is the informal demarcation between the northern and southern parts of Colorado east of the Continental Divide.
One of the highest passes in the state, Mosquito Pass can be traversed only on foot or with a proper four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle. 2WD vehicles will find the road difficult due to the stream crossings and high rocky sections. Even with 4WD, it is typically passable only during the summer months. This is one of those trails that is popular with all offroad enthusiasts because it offers a little bit of everything. It's a great way to connect highway 9 and highway 91 from Alma to Leadville. The scenery is fantastic, including a huge mine in fairly good condition, and this is the highest continuous road in Colorado that goes over a pass.
It used to be a stagecoach road that saw heavy use, and though it was a fairly easy trail in the past it has gotten quite a bit more challenging in recent years. If you start in Alma, the dirt road is easy as you pass through the small town of Park City. The road continues as an easy one with a few bumpy sections as you work your way to the North London Mine. There are a few rocky sections for some fun during the climb.
The mine has lots of room for parking at timberline. It is very well preserved but use caution if you are near it. This is a great spot for lunch and picture taking.
The section past the mine and toward the pass is probably the most difficult. There are rocky sections as you climb to the pass and some places are very eroded. Many rocks can be avoided with careful tire placement, but some areas must be negotiated. An SUV with low clearance may get turned away here.
Continue to climb, and soon you find yourself at the pass and the sign for it that has been there for many, many years. The views are outstanding, and you can look to either side and see many mountain ranges.
There are many switchbacks on the west side of the pass as you work your way down. It is bumpy but not particularly technical compared to the east side. You can look down from the switchbacks to see the top section of the Birdseye Gulch trail.
Pass the Birdseye Gulch trail and enjoy the views of Mountain Lake and Diamond Lake as you descend. Soon the trail goes right by the lakes and it ends at the easy dirt roads near the Diamond Mine. Follow these roads west to the town of Leadville.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Tucson () is a city and the county seat of Pima County, Arizona, United States, and home to the University of Arizona. The 2010 United States Census put the population at 520,116, while the 2015 estimated population of the entire Tucson metropolitan statistical area (MSA) was 980,263. The Tucson MSA forms part of the larger Tucson-Nogales combined statistical area (CSA), with a total population of 1,010,025 as of the 2010 Census. Tucson is the second-largest populated city in Arizona behind Phoenix, both of which anchor the Arizona Sun Corridor. The city is 108 miles (174 km) southeast of Phoenix and 60 mi (97 km) north of the U.S.–Mexico border. Tucson is the 33rd largest city and the 58th largest metropolitan area in the United States (2014).
Major incorporated suburbs of Tucson include Oro Valley and Marana northwest of the city, Sahuarita south of the city, and South Tucson in an enclave south of downtown. Communities in the vicinity of Tucson (some within or overlapping the city limits) include Casas Adobes, Catalina Foothills, Flowing Wells, Midvale Park, Tanque Verde, Tortolita, and Vail. Towns outside the Tucson metro area include Benson to the southeast, Catalina and Oracle to the north, and Green Valley to the south.
The Spanish name of the city, Tucsón [tukˈson], is derived from the O'odham Cuk Ṣon [tʃʊk ʂɔːn], meaning (at the) base of the black [hill], a reference to a basalt-covered hill now known as Sentinel Peak. Tucson is sometimes referred to as The Old Pueblo.
