Shuzenji town has been a mountain spa resort since 1200 years ago, when a famous Buddhist monk, Kukai, discovered a hot spring source in the middle of the Izu Peninsula. It’s a small town but you will enjoy traditional Japanese atmosphere in many ways.
My channel, Japan Silhouette, features beautiful scenery, traditional culture, Origami arrangement, and the warm heart of the Japanese people.
I also visit other countries and record my impression about them, perhaps from a Japanese perspective.

Shuzenji is located almost in the center of the Izu-hanto peninsula, on a hill surrounded by the Amagi Sugumo and Daruma Mt.
It is known as one of the major hot spring resort in Naka-Izu, where a lot of people love the atomosphere of quietness.

Shizuoka Shuzenji - 修善寺温泉 - 4K Ultra HD : Despite being “lost” in the middle of the mountains of Izu peninsula, Shuzenji is a well known tourist destination for both Japanese and foreigners alike. Indeed Shuzenji is one of the oldest and most famous hot spring resort towns on the whole peninsula! Like the Japanese tradition dictates, there is no onsen without ryokan and Shuzenji does not disappoint here either, offering a selection of the most exquisite onsen you can find on the peninsula!
Other nice attractions in Shuzenji’s include a small bamboo forest, many little cafes and shops as well as a gorgeous little temple that we will feature in our next video!

修禅寺（しゅぜんじ）は、静岡県伊豆市修善寺にある曹洞宗の寺院。山号は福地山。正式名称は「福地山修禅萬安禅寺（ふくちざんしゅぜんばんなんぜんじ）」[1]で、略して福地山修禅寺と呼んでいる（宗教法人としての名称は「修禅寺」[2]）。夏目漱石の「修善寺の大患」、岡本綺堂の「修禅寺物語」でも名高い。修善寺温泉街の中心にあり、修善寺の地名の元になった。地名は「修善寺」、寺名は「修禅寺」で、表記が異なるが、両方とも「しゅぜんじ」と読む。

Izu peninsula, Japan [2/2]
Mount Omuro (大室山, Ōmuroyama) is an extinct volcano near the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, south of central Ito City. It is shaped like an inverted rice bowl and has a beautiful silhouette that can be seen from most places in the Izu Kogen area. Mount Omuro is about 580 meters high and has a crater with a diameter of about 300 meters which takes about 15 to 30 minutes to circle on foot.
Shuzenji Onsen was named after Shuzenji Temple (修禅寺) at the center of town. Kobo Daishi, one of Japan's most important religious personalities, founded the temple about 1200 years ago. Today, it is a Zen Buddhist temple where visitors can participate in meditation classes (Tuesdays from 9:30, reservation required). Kobo Daishi is also said to have created Shuzenji's most prominent hot spring, Tokko-no-yu, located in the middle of the river bed that runs through the town center. Today, Tokko-no-yu is used as a foot bath.

WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL HOTEL!!! JAPAN VLOG 日本自由行 #9
I IN JAPAN AGAINNNNNN!!!!!! I know I know... I was just here two months ago but that was Okinawa! This time I'm visiting mainland Japan and the city of TOKYOOOOOOOO. Okay not exactly downtown Tokyo since we are on a hunt for Japan's greatest hot spring (traditional public bath usually exists in hotels/ryokans or on its own, you basically get in the tub/pool with zero clothes on completely nude with strangers). We visited one of the best hotels/ryokans in Japan and the food was just superb especially when we were having kaiseki-ryōri (traditional multi-course Japanese dinner with incredible platting and it is really a pleasure to the eye).
Though we did stayed one night in Shinjuku which is one of the three most popular areas in Tokyo for the shopping of course. I must say this though, I still prefer the countryside/hot spring resort area better since the city is just too hustle and bustle for me. Yee living the chill life buddy...

了仙寺（りょうせんじ）は、静岡県下田市七軒町3丁目にある日蓮宗の寺で、山号を法順山とする。旧本山は、身延山久遠寺。脱師法縁。寛文12年（1635年）の創建で、開山は行学院日朝、開基は下田奉行今村正長。日米和親条約の付属条約、下田条約が締結された場としても知られる。境内から参道にかけて無数のアメリカジャスミンが植樹されており、「ジャスミン寺」の別名も持つ（アメリカジャスミンはニオイバンマツリ（匂蕃茉莉、Brunfelsia australis）の別名で、モクセイ科のジャスミンとは異なりナス科である）。境内に隣接して宝物館が隣接する。
Ryōsen-ji (了仙寺?) is a small Buddhist temple in Shimoda, Japan. It is noteworthy as the location of the signing ceremony for the Treaty of Amity and Commerce (also known as the Harris Treaty) between the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan and the United States of America on July 29, 1858. Due to this connection, the temple grounds and main hall have been designated as a National Historic Site by the Japanese government.

Onsen Shuzenji adalah salah satu resor pemandian panas tertua dan paling dikenal di Semenanjung Izu. Pemandian air panas ini terletak di area berbukit semenanjung. Onsen ini tidak memiliki pemandangan laut namun terdapat banyak kota-kota onsen yang jaraknya berdekatan, dan menarik bagi wisatawan dengan sejarah dan tata kotanya yang menarik.
Onsen Shuzenji dinamakan sesuai nama kuil Shuzenji yang berada di tengah kota. Kobo Daishi adalah kuil yang didirikan sekitar 1200 tahun lalu. Merupakan salah satu tempat keagamaan paling penting di Jepang. Saat ini, kuil ini adalah kuil Budha Zen. WIsatawan dapat mengambil kelas meditasi yang diadakan pada hari Selasa dari jam 9 pagi. Dikatakan bahwa Kobo Daishi juga membuat sebuah pemandian air panas yang terkenal, Tokko no yu. Berlokasi di tengah -tengah sungai yang mengalir ke tengah kota. Saat ini, Tokko no yu digunakan sebagai pemandian kaki.
