A less crowded and more quieter option than Boracay would be to travel to Puerto Galera, Philippines which is only a few hours outside of Manila via bus/boat. All of the travel will be an experience to remember if you haven't traveled much in this country.

Manila to Puerto Galera – Sabang + Big Lalaguna Beach + Budget
Manila to Puerto Galera – Sabang + Big Lalaguna Beach + Budget
Hi guys, in this vlog we are traveling from Manila to Puerto Galera – Sabang. We show you how to get from Manila to Puerto Galera and give an overview of the budget how much it costs to get there.
Christine booked a bus and ferry ticket at a service called ‘Si-Kat’, which probably cost a bit more than when you find your own way, but for us it’s worth the extra if everything gets arranged for you. We book a Grab to Ermita Manila, where the pick-up point for the bus is at the Citystate Tower Hotel.
From here, you hop on the bus towards Batangas Port. On the way there, you already get your ticket for the Ferry (Genesis II). You also get to pay the Terminal fee which is great, because you don’t have to line up in Batangas Port.
From Batangas Port, the Genesis II boat will bring you quite quickly to Muelle Pier. This is one of two ports in Puerto Galera, so first check which one is closest to your hotel.
From Muelle Pier we take a tricycle to Sabang center in Puerto Galera. Here we meet up with our host of the Blue Pagong Apartments where we will stay. On the map it looks far from the beach, but walking through some nice alleys brings you within 2 minutes to the Blue Pagong Apartments. So you’re actually really close to the beach, but far enough from the nightlife noise to have a quiet sleep at night.
Our room/apartment is quite spacious, has a nice terrace, a kitchen with a partially filled fridge with drinks and snacks. Also a big bed, which is important as I am a tall person. You get a large open cabinet to store your clothes and also a small safe to put in your valuables. The bathroom is also spacious and has a great shower.
The building has been recently built, and looks really fresh and well maintained. The staff is also great!
We also recommend the Italian restaurant which is owned by the same owner as the Blue Pagong. It’s called Bella Napoli and if you’re a guest at the apartments, you get 10% off!
Our holiday consisted of being lazy at the beach, which is something you can really do well while staying in Puerto Galera. Sabang has a chill vibe, but also has some active nightlife. We chose to hang out at the Big Lalaguna Beach, which has some lovely spots to relax underneath a coconut tree.
Big Lalaguna Beach is definitely our favorite of all Sabang beaches and besides that, it looks so good with the white sand and small colourful guestrooms at the back.
