Crazy Muay Thai Fight: Is Muay Thai Just Stand and Bang?
People watch Muay Thai fights like Pakorn and Pornsanae and think that it's all there is to Muay Thai: sit in the pocket and trade until one person falls. This fight went viral for a reason, it sure makes entertainment, but no Muay Thai is NOT stand and bang.
In fact every combat sport has the brawler. In MMA, Diego Sanchez, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin / Stephan Bonnar, etc. are some easy examples. There's also the technical brawler, which is Max Holloway, Cody Garbrandt, and the Diaz brothers.
Examples are plenty in MMA, kickboxing, and boxing, but yet Muay Thai is often characterized by fights like Pakorn and Pornsanae. Pornsanae's favorite fighter is Saenchai. In fact, both Pakorn and Pornsanae trained with Saenchai at 13 Coins gym for a while.
Before 13 Coins, Saenchai trained at Jocky Gym, which included evasive geniuses like Somrak and Lerdsila. There are countless evasive technicians from the golden era, but yet the world does not know them. This is the purpose of my video, to spotlight the contrast between stand and bang style and the technician evasive style, which many Muay Femur fighters are.
If you want to learn more about historic martial arts technique, check out my new book preview (60 pages free):
I will be discussing all this in more detail in my book. Please give it a reading chance if you'd like to support my efforts.

30 Things to do in Thailand Travel Guide, Top Attractions & Thai Street Food
During our time backpacking and traveling around Asia we spent more time in Thailand than any other country in SE Asia and for good reason. Unlike most tourists who visit Thailand, we decided to skip most of the beaches located in the southern regions of the country and instead focus most of our time in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai, our home away from home, became our base for several months and by the time we left we promised ourselves we'd return again in the near future.

What makes Chiang Mai such a great base for foreigners? Firstly, it's cheap. You can find high quality serviced apartments for under $500 (some are less than $300) that offer modern amenities and are in located in close proximity to the old square of the city. Secondly, the food – both Thai and International – offers as much diverse selection as any city I've ever visited. If you want to gormandize on authentic Thai delights you'll have no shortage of options ranging from Thai street food to high class Thai restaurants. For the culture vulture, no shortage of opportunities exist to explore temples such as Doi Suthep, markets such as the Saturday night market or interact with animals such as at the Elephant Nature Park. When you get tired of Chiang Mai, the sleepy hillside town of Pai awaits where the pace is slower and you feel more like you're out in the countryside.

Politics of Thailand
Until 22 May 2014 the politics of Thailand were conducted within the framework of a constitutional monarchy, whereby the Prime Minister is the head of government and a hereditary monarch is head of state. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislative branches.
Since the coup d'état of 22 May 2014, the 2007 Constitution was revoked, and Thailand has been under the rule of the military organization called National Council for Peace and Order, which has taken control of the national administration. The Chief of the NCPO abolished the National Assembly and assumed all responsibility of the legislative branch. Under the Martial Law that has been enforced throughout the Kingdom, the military courts have been tasked to be responsible for some cases that are normally under the civilian courts. However, the court system including the Constitutional Court still remains in existence, even without the Constitution.

Muay Thai
Muay Thai (Thai: มวยไทย, RTGS: Muai Thai, [mūaj.tʰāj] ( )) is a combat sport from the muay martial arts of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on foot is known as the art of eight limbs because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the twentieth century, when practitioners defeated notable practitioners of other martial arts. A professional league is governed by the World Muay Thai Council.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.

SUMMARY
=======
Buddhism in Thailand is largely of the Theravada school, which is followed by 94.6 percent of the population. Buddhism in Thailand has also become integrated with folk religion as well as Chinese religions from the large Thai Chinese population. Buddhist temples in Thailand are characterized by tall golden stupas, and the Buddhist architecture of Thailand is similar to that in other Southeast Asian countries, particularly Cambodia and Laos, with which Thailand shares cultural and historical heritage.
Buddhism is believed to have come to what is now Thailand as early as 250 BCE, in the time of Indian Emperor Ashoka. Since then, Buddhism has played a significant role in Thai culture and society. Buddhism and the Thai monarchy has often been intertwined, with Thai kings historically seen as the main patrons of Buddhism in Thailand. Although politics and religion were generally separated for most of Thai history, Buddhism's connection to the Thai state would increase in the middle of the 19th century following the reforms of King Mongkut, that would lead to the development of a royally backed sect of Buddhism and increased centralization of the Thai Sangha under the state, with state control over Buddhism increasing further after the 2014 coup d'etat.
Thai Buddhism is distinguished for its emphasis on short term ordination for every Thai man and its close interconnection with the Thai state and Thai culture. The two official branches, or Nikayas, of Thai Buddhism are the royally backed Dhammayuttika Nikaya and the larger Maha Nikaya.
