Description
St Ives, The ghostly bay, Cornwall
The sea fret mist can descend from the calm of a warm sunny day and envelope the bay of Saint Ives as if the ghosts of past mariners are seeking retribution from their wreckers.
Mist of Saint Ives Bay.
The cobalt shimmer of a Cornish sky
reflects creation's shell crushed granite rock
Timeless seas have scoured this moon arc bay
And ghostly mists fret for those entombed beneath its Siren
tempting sea
Adagio 'afore crescendo of the tempest fury storm
Revenue men in depths of lantern night
Keen eyed for smugglers barrelled haul
Coopers crafted holds to quench the thirst
of Sloop bar trawler men
Wreckers seeking bounty twixt shattered hulls
and wave tossed dunnage oak
No 'morrow men but netting silks before
the guilt of coming dawn
Fisher men risking sea salt limbs for fin tailed shoals
as huers shout their Hevva call at sight of pilchard thrashing foam
History in saintly guise has blessed this Cornish place
and upon its fog cloaked altar has placed
the treasure of Saint Ives.

Fisheries Monitoring: Regional Rivers and Streams
Each of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s nine watersheds are surveyed for fish communities and habitat features every three years. Fish are excellent indicators of stream health because they are easy to collect and identify in the field, are sensitive to changes in their environment, differ in their tolerance to amount and types of pollution and are sensitive to forms of pollution that chemical tests may miss. To help predict what types of fish are likely to be found, in-stream habitat characteristics (e.g. stream widths) and bank assessments are completed together with the fish community surveys. Massive 16,000 ton Russian Cargo vessel pulled to safety off Cornwall
In the early hours of the 18th December 2018 a huge Russian cargo ship believed to be the Kuzma Minin ran aground off the small Cornish town of Falmouth, reports say it somehow dragged its anchor, anding up on the beach.. The British Coastguard airlifted a pilot onto the vessel then it was pulled off the beach by tugs at high tide in a clockwork operation overseen by a RNLI lifeboat. I caught the drone footage as it was being pulled, sadly rain forced me to land before the ship was finally pulled free.
Storm winds and driving rain stopped for a short while to allow me to film safely.
I do not know if any damage was sustained to the hull of the vessel.
I must re-iterate that No crew were air lifted off the vessel as I wrongly state at the beginning of the clip and the daring flying by the coastguard in high winds and driving rain was to place someone to help pilot the ship to safety as far as I can tell at the time of writing this.

Ladrum 21st Oct 2016
Kayak fishing at Ladrum bay, three kayak anglers, launch in search of Bass, Tfed, Russ1 & Wahoo.
Really cold first thing in the morning, but turned out to be a good day.
I hooked a Bass, but the fish slipped the hook by the net.
Oh well next time maybe.
Caught Wrasse, and a number of Pollock, of which took the two biggest ones home for the table, and the others were released.
