SIEM REAP VLOG - KHMER WAYS SCOOTER TOUR | Cambodia Travel Vlog 017, 2017
Hiring a scooter in Cambodia or Siem Reap can be tough, so in this travel vlog we found a great company, Khmer tours, to take us on a trip far away from the tourists and into the real Cambodia. We saw some local villages, watched some rice paddy workers and wowed a few locals with our drone flying over Siem Reap. Incredible experience, as rushed as the flights were around this day the scooter trip was well worth it!

Over the summer holidays (December 2015) Sam and I travelled to Cambodia. It was the first time Sam and I were able to travel overseas together and we loved every minute of it! The first four days we explored the markets, temples and countryside of Siem Reap. It was unreal!!
We logged the whole trip and will be breaking the vlogs up - so stay tuned for our adventures in Phnom Penh.

Seeing Siem Reap On Bike
It's our first official full day in Siem Reap and our main agenda was Seeing Siem Reap on Bike! After having some quick nap, we headed out to eat lunch at a restaurant near the old market where food is cheaper. It was too hot that day so we decided to go back to the hostel and wait for the more forgiving afternoon Sun.
Around 3PM we headed to the bicycle rental shop where we rented 3 Japanese Bicycle. Don't worry about finding one though, most hostels have bikes for rent at a dollar or two for their guests.
We visited Preah Ang Chorn first, which If I am not mistaken is a Hindu shrine. I didn't go in the temple so don't quote me on that. after that was a quick walk around Siem Reap's newest mall The Heritage Mall. I tried looking for a good bargain but I didn't find one. Store that we visited wasostly knock off goods so it was a hard pass at shopping. Our last stop for the day was Prom Roth Pagoda where my girlfriend, Sodalin told my dad the story of Buddha as depicted on the Temple's murals.
Dinner along Street 60, across Sokha Convention Center ended our day. We bought food in one of the grilling vendors. There were no tables, so just like the locals we ate sitting down on make shift floors. The food wasn't outstanding but it was an experience. I'd say be careful of the pork grills, make sure the are well done.

Motorcycle Trip Around The Small Circuit of Angkor Wat
I rent a motorcycle from Krong Siem Reap to visit Angkor Wat in Siem Reap Province. That motorcycle is Honda Airblade, I rent it $10 for 24hours. It's not the best but it's good to go. I just driving around the small circuit of Angkor Wat. I went through Pre Rub temple, East Mebon Temple, Banteay Kdei, Srah Srong, Neak Pean temple, Preah Khan temple... It was raining hard but it's still fun to drive motorcycle. I went off the road at a concrete bridge to see people cast net fishing, playing water. They caught some fishes and grill to cheer with beers. It's raining non-stop. I just left that place heading to Angkor Thom crossing north Angkor Thom gate to the Elephant terrace, Bayon Temple and out of South Angkor Thom gate to Angkor Wat temple. I didn't stop at any temples, I just drove across all the temples as I don't have much time and it's raining. I got back to Siem Reap town and rest at my Home-Sweet-Home.

$3 Hair Cut in Siem Reap, Cambodia - What could go wrong?? ????????
I needed a hair cut and after having a pretty good one last year for 5 bucks thought lets get another one whilst i’m here this year.
Although, not quite the style I was looking for, the young bloke took great care and pride in his work.
Inspired by Harald Balder and Bald and Bankrupt - I thought why not record the experience of a $3 hair cut in Cambodia
The audio might not be too flash on this one but I hope you get the idea.

5 days in an amazing country with amazing people.
I spent a lot of time exploring the ancient remains of Angkor Wat, an incredibly complex area with tons of small temples, some more, some less crowded. To complete my short stay in Cambodia, we decided to rent some scooters and ride all the way to the floating villages close to Siem Reap where we encountered a lifestyle unimaginable in westernized countries.

Siem Reap, a resort town in northwestern Cambodia, is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th–15th centuries. Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat, the main temple, which is pictured on Cambodia’s flag. Giant, mysterious faces are carved into the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom.

ᄿOUR STORY: Backroads of Montana. Watch Video here:
Our Story
Life is crazy! The tide smashes even the best-laid plans to sand… and so it goes!
This is a story about two people, who met by chance, were bound by fate and who continue to let the quirky side of life guide their paths! How else could a young man from a tiny town in Albania and a farm girl from the mountains of Montana meet in the middle, with a life guided by adventure?
We met in Rome. Engjell was a waiter in a little Roman restaurant down by Trevi Fountain and I was a student abroad, spending a year in the Eternal City. There are some pretty cheesy movies about the giggly American girl meeting the handsome foreigner abroad, who then spend all their time bombing around ancient ruins on a shiny moped, hair blowing in the wind and smiles from ear to ear. And yet… serendipity delivers! We did fall in love and he did have a moped…
In 2006, we moved back to the United States. We returned as a family of three, as little Fiona had been born in Rome at FateBeneFratelli, the hospital on an island… where all the Roman babies have been born for centuries! We moved often, looking for the perfect place. In 2010, we found an opportunity to open our own restaurant in Bigfork, Montana. We spent seven years and thousands of hours bringing the flavors of Italy to rural Montana. We were doing well! We were successful and busy and had finally bought our own home… we had a mortgage and car payments and a full-time, ultra-demanding job! We opened a second restaurant! We even added two more family members with the addition of Hugo and Remy!
We were living the dream! Or were we? On the outside, it looked like we had it all… that success had reached out its hand and we had graciously accepted. But in reality, we were working 80-100 hours each per week, we rarely saw our three beautiful kids who knew the nanny better than they did us, and we were burned out… from too much work, from too little time spent together as a family, from life! We had bought into the well-oiled idea of success and were realizing quickly the fatal flaws in our plan.
So we decided, together, to give it all up! We took the giant, terrifying, leap and sold it all to travel on a shoestring budget and let life teach us again, teach us anew, of what it looks like to be a successful human being! We are just beginning on this wonderful adventure! We have been traveling the U.S. for a year as a family in a motorhome. We are every day astounded by the diversity and creativity of both humans and Mother Nature. In July, we will set off for a one year trip around the world!
This time, too, food and wine lead our adventure. We hope to dig deep into every culture as we go, unearthing culinary tradition everywhere we go! We plan to travel to places where we can stage and work in restaurants and vineyards to learn more and to ultimately be able to take what we have learned and start fresh…inspired, changed… wherever we end up.
This trip is about re-defining success! It is about food and wine…about a plate of pasta or a shared bottle of wine, about experiences! It is about family and figuring out how we all fit together and what life’s REAL plan for us is! We invite you to join us in this crazy adventure as we travel the world!

Siem Reap Bike Meet 3 // SRBM2019 // 23rd Nov 2019 // Siem Reap, Cambodia // Dara Pech Photography
A highlight video of Siem Reap Bike Meet 3 on the 23rd Nov 2019. SRBM was a great success with riders traveling from all over Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, to what is now being dubbed Cambodia Bike Week!
SRBM is a family friendly event, and the crowd reflected this with a broad and diverse range of people turning up on the day. There was amazing food, drinks, excellent live music and of course lots of bikes including Harley-Davidson, Indian Motorcycles, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha , BMW, Vespa and more!
Many riding clubs and motorcycle enthusiasts decended upon the venue, traveling from all over South-East Asia to be a part of what is fast becoming Siem Reap's premiere social event.
