Another awesome local ride. I crashed, the GPS fell off, it was pretty eventful all in all, but the riding was sweet!

MY NEW MTB PLAYGROUND | Mountain Biking in Bubion, Spain
Welcome to another mountain bike ride in the Sierra Nevada, Spain. For this ride I headed up to Bubion, a village I absolutely fell in love with, and rode in the hills above it. The riding is natural, rugged, exposed and even flowy at times. Such an awesome ride and I'm happy to share it with you!
My YouTube channel is young, but I'm serious about making and uploading quality video's to keep viewers coming back for more.
The channel is a combination of 3 things, all focused on mountain biking so as to keep the channel targeted at like minded riders: -
1. Trail Rides - I'm still tweaking my filming setup, but I'm only interested in uploading quality stabilised edits with some short 3rd person sections included for variety.
2. Travel Riding - I'm on the road! We're travelling full time around Europe, and I want to immerse some of the culture and feel of the countries we're travelling through, into the trail edits.
3. The Skills Series - I'm so keen to learn the awesome skills associated with trials riding and mountain biking, even at this relatively late stage in my time on the bike. I'll be learning the wheelie, manual, bunny hops etc, all in front of the camera, to give you guys an idea of the time and work it takes to master these skills.
Make sure you head to the channel for a look: -
Also make sure you check out The Skills Series here: -
Then the rest of my Spanish trail videos:-
To stay up to date on the rides and especially to get progression sessions on The Skills Series, make sure you subscribe to the channel. It's completely free of course, just hit this link to go to my channel: -

Mountain Biking Spain | Sierra Nevada | Juviles
Here's my first proper mountain biking trail video in Spain! This is the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the trail is just above a sleepy little village called Juviles.
Come ride the trail with me and get a feel for the riding in Southern Spain. I created this loop in Strava to include the FlowTastic descent back down towards Juviles. It's a great descent that the local guiding companies take clients to, and was an awesome ride.
Here's the link to my Strava for the ride:-

I NEED STABILISERS | Mountain Biking in Bubion, Spain
My first ride in 3 weeks and it was fantastic! Uplifted all to the way to 6000 ft by the misses, so I could enjoy the downhill fun without the climbing! 3 pathetic spills though, all in the video!
Episodes will be back in the correct order from this week. Friday was the VLOG this week, so today is the trail ride, but Tuesday will be wheelies as usual!

I LOVE THIS RIDE! Mountain Biking in the Sierra Nevada Spain
I LOVE THIS RIDE! There are actually 3 of these descents off this particular ridge including Demoralizer, and I love them all. Chunky, techy, blind, and impossible to remember.
Every time I've ridden these (which is 3 times), it's been like riding it blind for the first time, and who doesn't love that feeling!

Mountain Biking Sierra Nevada, Spain | DEMORALIZER & ROUND THE BEND
My first ride as an official resident of the Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira vally in the Sierra Nevada Spain, was a revisit to Demoralizer with an extension on the end! It was a great ride and one I'll be doing a lot I've no doubt! I'm going to be gunning for a top 10 on the Demoralizer segment!

SwitchBacks MTB Bubion Spain Adventure Day 5
The Final Day
We saved the most brutal trail for last, a 10min relentless, cobbled rock garden which never seemed to end, everything was stressed and fatigued, our muscles, our bones, our bikes and our spirit.
We had to really dig deep to find the strength and energy to get round the trails on this final day but it was well worth it.
This part of the world never seem to stop throwing up surprises, with scenery which was breath taking it seem this amazing landscape saved the most beautiful view till last, such stunning beauty that it could make an atheist start to believe in a creator.
It was a brilliant trip, thanks to everyone involved and a special thanks to Mike @ Switchbacks who looked after us.

The Alpujarra: An unlikely cosmopolitan hub in Spain’s Sierra Nevada
Órgiva, Spain, Feb 24 (EFE).- (Imagen: Pedro Pablo Pérez) Spend an hour in the shade of an orchard in the Alpujarra valley, a lush network of gorges hemmed in between Spain's often-snowcapped Sierra Nevada mountain range and the Mediterranean Sea, and analogies of paradise will naturally spring to mind.
Such is the undeniable natural beauty of this corner of Andalucía that a steady stream of predominantly northern European expatriates has made its way here since the late 1970s, transforming rural farming villages with once dramatically dwindling populations into unlikely cosmopolitan hubs focused on organic agriculture and an ecologically sustainable existence.
“I would not recommend this life to everybody,” Lore Ruegg, a Swiss woman who settled in the Alpujarra 18 years ago, told EFE. “If you come with romantic ideas you are going to be disappointed because a lot of work is required, it’s hard at times, and making a living isn’t easy.”
She fiddled with an orange that had dropped from one of the trees on her property just outside the town of Órgiva, the nerve-center of western Alpujarra valley, while her golden retriever, Estrella, snoozed in a patch of sun.
“But, if you are interested in the experience and in new things, and if you like to live close to nature, then yes, I would recommend it,” she added.
Lore and her husband Jordi, originally from Spain’s northeastern Catalonia region, relocated to the Alpujarra after spending three years in Findhorn, an eco-village in the north of Scotland.
They now run a small organic bakery, La Espelta, which opens four days a week and services a predominantly international clientele in Órgiva.
Their decision to trade in the cooler climes of the Scottish Highlands for blue skies in southern Spain set them on a path well-trodden by droves of like-minded people.
Nowadays, the town of Órgiva boasts of 70 distinct nationalities among its 6,000 inhabitants in a region that has seen a 50 percent drop in its population since the 1960s.
The new arrivals have somewhat tempered this downward trend and regenerated much of the land by purchasing abandoned farmhouses.
It makes for a fascinating demographic.
An alternative, hippy ethos that sprouted in the 1970s remains intrinsic to the fabric of this vibrant community, but there are also spiritual New Age groups, a well-rooted Sufi Muslim society, aspiring young agriculturalists, travelers, punks and others who simply feel rejected by the norms of mainstream culture.
“Normally you’d have to live in a city to have so many people from different cultures, countries and religions. It enriches the zone and is a factor that continues to bring people here,” Lore remarked.
Yet the Alpujarra is no stranger to intrepid foreigners.
British author Gerald Brenan settled there in the 1920s. His retrospective autobiography “South from Granada,” published in 1957 regaled an international readership with tales of mysterious traditions, poverty and descriptions of a sublime n
