Argentinian Gaucho Tour with Signature Tours
While there are so many attractions in Buenos Aires not to be missed, our time in Argentina would not be complete without visiting the luscious countryside.
Just a two hour drive outside of the city we visited Estancia El Ombú de Areco, a ranch to experience the gaucho life. A gaucho is a skilled horseman who becomes one with his horse through the practice of gentle horse whispering.
During our tour we had the opportunity to ride horses, enjoy a Argentine meat BBQ, watch some traditional dancing and of course try some famous Argentinian wine!

The Highlights of Buenos Aires with Signature Tours
Buenos Aires is so big and rich in history that if you only have a few days to explore the city it would be impossible. In a city that boasts a population around 3 million is best to start off taking a bus tour.
Our favorite is the Highlights of Buenos Aires Tour by Signature Tours, as it shows you the best of the city in just three hours. We visited the eight most attraction filled neighborhoods out of Buenos Aires’ 48 neighborhoods.

6 Things To Do in Buenos Aires in 48 hours - Ski Argentina, Part 1
We spent 48 hours in Buenos Aires on our way to Barlioche to ski at Cerro Catedral. What can you do in Buenos Aires in 48 hours? Here are our suggestions:
1) Empanada Tour. Buenos Aires seems to have empanadas on every corner. We began our Argentina empanada tasting tour at Temple Palermo near our hotel, and continued throughout our trip. Stay tuned for Part 4 of the Argentina Ski VLOG to see our rankings of what we tried. In Buenos Aires, we had beef empanadas at Temple, Minga, and Don Julio, all in Palermo. We ranked them (1) Minga, (2) Don Julio (a lot of sauce in the empanada), and (3) Temple. All were good and very different - it was just a question of preference. Temple was like a hamburger patty in the empanada. Don Julio seemed to have sauce inside. Minga was just delicious, and we both got two orders.
2) Explore Argentine Shops and Street Fairs. There are quite a few street fairs in Buenos Aires, along with many unique stores that you cannot find in the U.S. or Canada. Our sample size was limited given our time constraints, but we preferred the Feria de Plaza Serrano on Calle Honduras (Serrano Plaza Fair on Honduras Street) because it was right in Palermo, which has a lot of great shopping itself.
3) Dinner at Don Julio Parrilla. A coworker who lived in Buenos Aires for six months recommended Don Julio for Argentine steak. It was a great recommendation. The decor was unique, the service was very attentive (constantly topping off water and wine), the beef was the quality of a top American steak house but about 1/4 the price. Following the Argentine peso's most recent unfortunate collapse, it would now be 1/5 the price.
4) Neighborhood Tour. We walked around Palermo on our first day, so we did a day tour with Signature Tours for most of the second day. They were great. We learned a lot about Argentine history, culture and politics. The tour was half a day.
5) Rapanui. This is an ice cream and chocolate store with only a few locations in Argentina. A great way to sample delicious sweets that you cannot find outside Argentina.
6) Tango Show. Our show, the Viejo Almacen Tango Show with optional dinner, included dinner, which was decent, but seemed to take up time. The show itself was across the street from the restaurant. We would recommend attending the show without dinner if you are in town for 48 hours. The dancers were excellent! There were also musicians who played music indigenous to the Andes.

Lyrics:
I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track (thunder)
I looked round
And I knew there was no turning back (thunder)
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do? (thunder)
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you (thunder)
Sound of the drums
Beating in my heart
The thunder of guns (yeah)
Tore me apart
You've been
Thunderstruck
