Life Lately - Pasyal Intramuros, International Museum Day + food adventures | DA Vlogs
An amateur take on vlogging!
IN THE VIDEO
+Intramuros Pasyal: Design Week [April 16-17] was a two-day affair dedicated to street food, street art, spoken word (missed this), arts and crafts. It was held in the walled district of Intramuros in Manila.
+Silahis Arts & Artifacts is a showroom / antique and souvenir shop in Intramuros that carries cultural arts and artifacts, traditional craft and furniture, and old publications.
+The NCCA Ready to Wear (RTW) Clothing Design Competition was held to celebrate and revive traditional textiles for modern use.
+To view the Rebisco Sandwich TVC, click here: Just to clarify, I attended as digital support. Concept, script and overall production is handled by a different team.
+Ayala Museum opened to the public for free in a belated celebration of the International Museum Day.
+Visited Habitual Coffee with a friend (Ella) one Saturday morning for a brunch date.
+After seeing Ella, I was supposed to go on a street art tour but ended up pigging out at the Gourmand Festival at BGC.
There's always something fun to do in Manila!

Passionate antique collector
In the small street along the canal Hongkaikeo village in Vientiane, most houses have wooden and concrete fences, except that of passionate collector Bounyoung Thamavong, who surrounds his house with antiques that he has collected across the country.
Collecting for over 20 years now, he keeps his effort of preserving Lao artefacts high despite facing some difficulties.
Young says he devotes his time to take care of and collect antiques to show to younger generation who will not be able to see these old valuables anymore in the future.
These artefacts have been increasingly hard to find and expensive. I will never sell them because they are part of my life and the country, he says.
Although his families are not satisfied with the antiques, he was not discouraged and never gives up his passion.
My families say they built a beautiful house but not for me to put these pieces of junks inside, he says.I just love them and I will continue to keep them.
Now, he plans to build a separate wooden house in Vientiane where he can display these objects inside like a mini-museum for the younger generations and students.
He does not expect any much from the collection. All he wants is to share these with Lao people and the entire public without anything in return.

Philippines: Travel in Intramuros
Here is a video of our travel in Intramuros.
Music by:
Danny E.B The Producer
One day isn't enough to be able to see all that Intramuros (Old Manila) could offer, especially if you're on foot. If you really want to see every corner of Old Manila then I suggest you allot two days for your walking adventure or spend some money to rent a kalesa or trisikad.
The place is also full of surprises, especially if you're not familiar with Intramuros. There are great souvenir shops, such as Silahis Arts and Craft and hidden or hard to notice unadvertised places, like stairs that leads to no one knows where. Luckily, a lot of establishments offer free flyers and maps. Use these free maps to find one destination to another. You'll save some energy when you know where you want to go to next.
Intramuros is a beautiful place to visit and learn about the history of the Philippines.
I suggest to everyone, to tourists and even Filipinos to visit Intramuros even once in our lives. Be educated of our own history. Love what we have because this is what makes us Filipinos.
