1985 Katowice Poland Competition

This is my long programme from an International Invitational competition I was invited to in 1985. I won the competition - which to this day is the only Australian to win an International Invitational event on record. It was my most amazing achievement in my sporting career!

Nie z tej ziemi! Interaktywny spacer po NIKISZOWCU

Teatr Śląski zaprasza do udziału w teatralnym projekcie „Nie z tej ziemi!”, który miał swoją premierę podczas INDUSTRIADY 2015 na katowickim Nikiszowcu. Dzięki wielomiesięcznym spotkaniom i rozmowom z mieszkańcami Nikiszowca powstała kronika drobnych wspomnień dzielnicy, która stała się podstawą do zbudowania parateatralnej formy połączonej z aplikacją multimedialną.

Instalacja intermedialna w zabytkowej przestrzeni kolonii górniczej Nikiszowiec jest projektem z pogranicza teatru, sztuki społecznej i multimediów. To unikatowe przedsięwzięcie angażuje młodych aktorów i tancerzy oraz rdzennych mieszkańców Nikiszowca. Autorami koncepcji i realizatorami „Nie z tej ziemi!” są reżyser Robert Talarczyk, dyrektor Teatru Śląskiego oraz Rafał Urbacki, reżyser i choreograf młodego pokolenia.

Nikisz, pierwotnie kolonia górnicza, wciąż się zmienia: przez ponad sto lat swojego istnienia przechodziła okresy rozkwitu i zapaści. Obecnie jest jedną z najmodniejszych dzielnic aglomeracji. Tylko czy Nikiszowiec nie staje się skansenem? Czy najmłodsze, czwarte już pokolenie mieszkańców podziela fascynację dzielnicą? Jedna z mieszkanek twierdzi, że Nikisz umiera, bo staje się modnym skansenem, który jest opisywany, fotografowany i filmowany, ale „wraz z każdym dziełem Nikisz idzie w świat, idzie jako Śląsk, i coś stąd wynosi.”

Ten projekt to zaproszenie do spaceru po Nikiszowcu, podczas którego będzie można poznać te mniej wydeptane ścieżki.
