The first of three episodes in The Chinese Silk Road documentary series! In this episode, we explore the root of Islam in China in the ancient capital of Xian, before moving into the mountains to discover the incredible Maijishan cave grottoes. We then move on to Lanzhou to try a steaming bowl of the famous hand pulled noodles, before heading to the western end of the Great Wall of China at Jiayuguan.

Xi'An is the ancient capital in China of the thirteenth dynasty, has big and small goose pagoda, terracotta warriors, various mausoleums, old city walls, bell tower, and drum tower. There are numerous places of interest and historic interest. Although I am a foreigner, I am really attracted by the history and culture of Xi'an. This is a small documentary. I hope you will like it. At the same time, I hope more Chinese people will cherish and love the culture of this land. This is really a brilliant treasure!

Xi'an also is known as Sian, is the capital of Shaanxi Province. A sub-provincial city on the Guanzhong Plain in northwest China. Cities have existed in the area since the 11th-century BCE. Chang'an Cheng (“Walled City of Chang'an”), built-in 202 BCE just northwest of present-day Xi'an, was the capital of the Xi (Western) Han dynasty (206 BCE–25 ce) and was one of the greatest cities of the ancient world.

We began our trip by eating LOTS of famous Xi'an street food in the famous Muslim Quarter -- a direct influence of the Silk Road, spent a full day exploring the 8th Wonder of the World -- the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, and ended our trip at Mount Huashan, where you find the deadliest hike in the world -- the Plank in the Sky! We also took the opportunity to fly our DJI Mavic Pro drone all over the city. Be sure to check out all the drone footage!

This is the 2nd episode of the documentary series Travel in China 游走中国 is a travel documentary that retraces the route taken by ancient Chinese people. The film crew drove along the ancient Silk Road from Xi’an to Tianshui, Lanzhou, Zhangye, Dunhuang and the Jiayu Pass. During the Han Dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE), Zhang Qian expanded the Road for imperial envoys and thus contributed to a giant leap in relations between China and countries in Central Asia. The production team traveled thousands of miles through the provinces of Shanxi and Gansu as well as the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, exploring the history of this ancient road and documenting its new look. This documentary examines a possible driving route for foreign visitors and serves as a promotional film for road trips in China.

Xi'an is the capital of Shaanxi province, located in the northwest of the People's Republic of China, in the center of the Guanzhong Plain. One of the oldest cities in China, with more than 3,100 years of history, the city was known as Chang'an before the Ming dynasty. Xi'an is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history, including Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang. Xi'an is the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.

This is our first time in Xi'an and already the street food here is INCREDIBLE! Xi'an street food is predominately muslim Chinese food! We taste spicy and mouth-numbing Chinese food such as beef pancakes, thick beef soup and more halal street food!
Besides eating in Xi'an there is lots of attractions including the Old City Wall of Xi'an, China which we visit in this video! The food here in Northern China is a lot different than what we are used to trying in Taiwan, we love all the bread and spices used in this unique and UNUSUAL Chinese food!

The seventh day of my journey around China, where I travel from Shanghai, to Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an and Beijing. l arrive in Xi'an and head straight to one of the city's most iconic images, the Bell Tower. In 39C heat, I explore some of Xi'an's quieter side streets, and then go on to discover the thriving Muslim Quarter, tasting the local unique street food. After dark, I walk on top of Xi'an's Ancient City Wall, seeing spectacular views of the city by night.

Xi'an, is the capital of Shaanxi Province. Xi'an is the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
Since the 1990s, as part of the economic revival of inland China especially for the central and northwest regions, the city of Xi'an has re-emerged as an important cultural, industrial and educational centre of the central-northwest region, with facilities for research and development, national security and space exploration. Xi'an currently holds sub-provincial status, administering 9 districts and 4 counties. As of 2018 Xi'an has a population of 12,005,600, and the Xi'an–Xianyang metropolitan area a population of 12.9 million. It is the most populous city in Northwest China, as well as one of the three most populous cities in Western China, the other two being Chongqing and Chengdu. In 2012, it was named as one of the 13 emerging megacities, or megalopolises, in China
