Silver Creek Conservation Area Hike - March 2018
Silver Creek is a real gem. Even though the forest had not yet gotten its green, the area has a lot to offer in the way of beauty. Each trail has something different so you'll want to stick around and do them all. The Bruce is noticeably more steep than some of the others.
The trekking pole I used was the Hammer anti -shock. At first I thought it would be annoying to carry around a stick, but I was surprised how useful it became, especially on descents. The rounded grip and strap are a bonus. It also comes with a snow disc for winter outings.

Silver creek waterfall

Hilton Falls Conservation Area
Hilton Falls is located within Hilton Falls Conservation Area, just west of the Greater Toronto Area and south of Acton, Ontario. The waterfall is located right alongside a side trail of the Bruce Trail. By following the Bruce Trail in, you do not have to pay a fee. Entering by the main entrance will result in a $6.50 per person charge. However, the Bruce Trail way will result in a 10-12km round trip hike.
Not the largest or most impressive of the Niagara Escarpment waterfalls, Hilton Falls is one of the most accessible and most photogenic. Access to both the crest and base is quite easy. It is possible to walk behind the veil of the plunge.
Esquesing Conservation Area Springtime, Halton Hills Ontario
Among the nomadic Ojibwe Mississaugas, Esquesing means 'last creek out'. This 15 hectare deciduous-pine tract was settled in the 1820s. It includes cliff crevices and accesses the Bruce Trail. Wildflowers seen on this April hike included coltsfoot, bloodroot, mayapple and yellow trout lily (dogtooth violet). The forest landscapes and foliage close-ups are accompanied by Native American flutist Marina Raye performing her composition 'Dance of Tranquility'.

West Credit river fish population: Below Belfountain. (1080p HD)
Filmed on Aug. 15th 2016. In several hours filming numerous pools and runs, other than baitfish (black nose dace, longnose dace and small white sucker) stocked Atlantic salmon were the only species found. Easily identified in the video by the strong, dark vertical barring (parr marks) and olive/brown back over silver body. The video thumbnail is an example of the beautiful wild brook trout that lived there...until recently. The wild brown trout that historically cohabited with them for a century on this heritage river have also been removed,. Music by Silent partner and Huma-Huma.
