Easton, CT - Silverman's Farm
► Looking for a new home in Easton, CT?
Easton is a small rural community in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Until 1845 when it was incorporated, the town used to be part of Weston. The area developed rather slowly because of the rough landforms along the Aspetuck River; this made farming difficult and slowed the transportation, there was no railroad built in Easton. The only type of industry that existed in this small town is a button factory. Today, the Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut, the biggest water supplier in the area, owns half the property in town.

Since 1849, Beardsley’s Cider Mill and Orchard in Shelton has been in business, with quite a history. The mill was formerly a dairy farm, but a bus accident in 1973 burnt the barn to the ground. The Beardsley’s decided to expand the orchards planted in the 1920s, which are still harvested today. In the seasonal Pick-Your-Own Orchard, there are over 5,000 apple trees.

JETjuice: August 2011 - Peach Picking
JET PROGRAM DAILY VLOG.
So a while back in August we went peach picking. I recorded the entire thing, including making peach parfait and climbing a massive dragon. I hadn't uploaded because of copyright issues, which I am now hoping to resolve.
The song PEACHES is the soul property of The Presidents of the United States. I in no way claim ownership of such music and give them full credit. This video is non profit and for personal use.

Newtown's Patricia Llodra Nominates & Endorses Tony Hwang
HWANG NOMINATED FOR RE-ELECTION TO STATE SENATE, ENDORSED BY NEWTOWN’S PATRICIA LLODRA
EASTON, CT – State Senator Tony Hwang was nominated for the 28th Senate District, which is comprised of Fairfield, Easton, Newtown/Sandy Hook and parts of Weston and Westport, by Former State Senator John McKinney and First Selectwoman of Newtown Patricia Llodra. The nominating convention was held at Samuel Staple Elementary School where State Senator Hwang accepted the nomination with his family at his side.
McKinney offered, “Two years ago, I nominated Tony to be my state senator as I knew he was going to do a great job. I am nominating Tony again because he has done exactly that, a great job. He has demonstrated how hard he works, how smart he is, how inclusive he is and how unafraid he is to stand up on issues important to our community. We need that kind of leadership in Hartford and Tony has earned our support.”
First Selectwoman Llodra seconded the nomination, “Frankly, I consider it a privilege to speak for Tony as a dedicated and very effective public servant. Fiscal responsibility, moderate social views and an enduring passion for community is what make him an effective advocate. Finally, Tony is a winner and we win with him.”
Upon accepting the nomination, Senator Hwang said, “It’s an honor and a privilege and I’m extremely grateful for the people within the 28th district that support me as a neighbor and an elected official. My critical mission is to ‘commit to the community’ in everything I do and practice representative government with a common sense approach.”
With regard to a common sense approach government, Hwang said, “The first thing you want to recognize is that state government must reflect the needs and wants of the people they represent. However, state government has moved away from that. We have to create jobs, enable business growth, and take the tax burden away from citizens by reducing governmental spending. As we reduce spending, we also have a responsibility to ensure that we protect the most vulnerable and work to enable them to succeed. We need to operate under the principles of ‘Predictability, Sustainability and Transparency’.”
Hwang continued, “I am willing to make the hard decisions for the long term financial health of our state. We need to practice fiscal accountability along with social responsibility.”
