Snorkel Trip, Port Douglas
SCUBA diving the Great Barrier Reef (From Port Douglas)
I am a very fortunate person to be able to go SCUBA diving on the Great Barrier Reef more than once. This was my second trip out to the reef - this time I left from Port Douglas and completed 3 dives on the Agincourt Ribbon Reef system. The Agincourt Ribbon Reef system is an “outer reef,” so it was expected that we could potentially see larger species of fish and I was glad that I got to see a shark for the first time (while not in a cage) and a morray eel. I hope you've enjoyed this video, below is a little more information about my 3 dives here.
Dive Site information:
Just Magic (Agincourt Ribbon Reef):
Bottom Time: 44 minutes
Max Depth: 16.4 meters (54 feet)
Barracuda Bommie (Agincourt Ribbon Reef):
Bottom Time: 47 minutes
Max Depth: 18.5 meters (61 feet)
New Stonehenge (Agincourt Ribbon Reef):
Bottom Time: 45 minutes
Max Depth: 14.8 meters (49 feet)

Snorkelling at Agincourt Reef
We went Snorkelling at Agincourt Reef, part of the Great Barrier Reef, on 30 March 2018. The trip out to the reef was run by Quicksilver Cruises, who we were very impressed with. This was a day stop as part of a 10 day cruise out of Sydney on the Carnival Spirit.
Snorkelling on the reef is extremely interesting and a lot of fun. It was very easy to pick up, even though I've never snorkelled before and I'm not really a strong swimmer. You go snorklling from a pontoon and in the snorkelling area there were so many different types of coral, fish and clams. We also saw turtles nearby.
