Batam is the largest city in the province of Riau Islands, Indonesia. The city administrative area covers three main islands of Batam, Rempang, and Galang (collectively called Barelang), as well as several small islands. Batam Island is the core urban and industrial zone, while both Rempang Island and Galang Island maintain their rural character and are connected to Batam Island by short bridges. Batam is an industrial boomtown, an emerging transport hub, and part of a free trade zone in the Indonesia–Malaysia–Singapore Growth Triangle, located 20 km (12 mi) off Singapore's south coast and also part of the Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle.

My cruise down the Singapore River begins at Merlion Park. The cruise is conducted on one of the city's historic bumboats. Bumboats have been plying the Singapore River for more than a century. The Singapore river consist of 3 different quays, Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay. Each quay has its own uniqueness, from its design to its history.

Singapore to Batam, Indonesia via HarbourFront Centre Ferry Terminal (on Majestic Fast Ferry)
The main ports on Batam are Batam Center, Sekupang, Waterfront City, Nongsapura and Telaga Punggur. Harbour Bay is now the principle international ferry port for these heading for Nagoya, replacing the outdated Batu Ampar ferry terminal.
Batam Center Ferry Terminal has essentially the most frequent ferry connections to/from Singapore and Johor Bahru. Sekupang, with ferries from Singapore is finest used for those catching home connections to the Sumatra mainland and the Karimun Islands.
To/From Singapore: Ferries departing from the Harbourfront Ferry Terminal go to Batam Centre, Sekupang and Waterfront City (Teluk Senimba) while ferries from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal serve Nongsapura.

Bass Strait Ferry
The Bukom island is currently the site of the Shell oil refinery and plants for the manufacture of chemicals. Shell's association with the island dates back to 1891, when the company used the island to store kerosene. Shell is currently extending its facilities on the island.
The island can be reached by ferry from the Pasir Panjang ferry terminal. The access to the island is restricted. Visitors need to have a security pass which will only be issued for personnel working on the island. The security checks are very tight and no unauthorized person is allowed to enter the island. The ferry service is operated by Tian San Shipping. The ferry is free of charge.
A SIMPLE FERRY RIDE TO SINGAPORE
It's literally lit for a day. I honestly felt like I didn't see much/enough, but I'm sure that's how most people feel on a trip. The day went so fast and the shopping was more than needed. Less than 12 hours is terrible time frame! WAHHH. Until next time of course!

Ferry to Pulau Ubin, Singapore
Pulau Ubin, also simply known as Ubin, is an island situated in the north east of Singapore, to the west of Pulau Tekong. The Granite quarry used to be supported by a few thousand settlers on Pulau Ubin in the 1960s, but only about a hundred villagers live there today. It is one of the last rural areas to be found in Singapore, with an abundance of natural flora and fauna. The island forms part of the Ubin–Khatib Important Bird Area (IBA), identified as such by BirdLife International because it supports significant numbers of visiting and resident birds, some of which are threatened.

There is a regular ferry service operated by Bintan Resorts Ferries (BRF) that plies between Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, Singapore and Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal, Bintan Resorts. Please remember to check in at least at least 1.5 hours before the ferry departure time.
Please note Bintan time is one hour behind Singapore time.
