Mini Vlog! A day out at the Clash De Cartier event @ Singapore Tyler Print Institute :)

I have been up to my neck with work lately and haven’t had much time to vlog. Fortunately, Cartier (one of my fav brands!) launched their new jewellery line #clashdecartier last weekend and I had a chance to check out the new range which was at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute for barely a weekend. Being the very hospitable hosts as they have always been, it was a pretty intricate experience filled with music, food and champagne.
P.S.: I was trying out a new mic for this vlog unfortunately something went wrong somewhere (newb!) so the entire vlog turned out silent. Nonetheless, I found a pretty cool soundtrack which matched the vibe of the vlog pretty well :) Also, I took on a more grainy effect for this vlog. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Thanks again for following me on my journey.
Enjoy looking at the world through my eyes!

Marina Bay Sands Hotel SIngapore's Art Path - Drift / Rising Forest / Wall Drawing #917 Art Works
MBS's Art Path art works in the Marina Bay SIngapore Hotel Lobby. They are Antony Gormley (Drift), Chongbin Zheng (Rising Forest 升林), late Sol LeWitt (Wall Drawing #917, Arcs and Circles. Local Singaporean painters and the Singapore Tyler Print Institute were also involved in the production of the LeWitt painting.
Gormley's Drift comprises a massive three-dimensional stainless steel polyhedral matrix that permeates seven floors in the space above the Marina Bay Sands Hotel atrium. It's a 15-ton stainless steel structure suspended over the lobby -- if you look closely a human figure emerges. Antony Gormley's words on Drift : My idea was to make a matrix that would not only occupy space but activate it, and would allow the moving observer -- whether on any of the balconies or in the atrium of Marina Bay Sands Hotel -- to become more aware of the space they were in.
Zheng's Rising Forest is composed of 83 ceramic vessels with trees that create a canopy effect within the hotel atrium, creating a connection with the surrounding landscape. Chongbin Zheng's words on Rising Forest : This installation seeks to direct the visual tone of the space with an exploration of elemental rhythms. Once the viewer walks into the site of Marina Bay Sands, they will have entered the interactive radius of the artwork. By passing through each vessel, viewers will experience a personal scene from all directions, left, right, above and below. Each turn will present changes in immediate space and the greater landscape. The elements combined with the changing colors will convey a passage through time and the seasons.
LeWitt's wall drawing with its lively primary colors, greets visitors as they enter the hotel from the upcoming Bayfront MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) station in the basement and in the main hotel entrance.
Kahn has also created Rain Oculus and Tipping Wall which will be completed in the coming months. Rain Oculus is a striking, large acrylic and stainless steel structure located at the intersection of the retail mall with the waterfront promenade that will create a whirlpool motion with the water falling 2 storeys through it, creating a dynamic water skylight feature at the heart of the retail mall (currently this is not completely installed) - You can view this at another view on Youtube: .
About Art Path:
The new Marina Bay Sands integrated resorts, which opened its doors to the public on April 27, also launched its new art path on Wednesday. This 'path' is in fact a display of seven large-scale art insallations by five internationally renowned artists, carefully handpicked by world famous architect Mr Moshe Safdie, the designer of the iconic Marina Bay Sands. These pieces are one of the few art works situated within the property. The total worth of public art situated in Marina Bay Sands is around S$40 million to $50 million and is part of the government's plan to integrate art in the central area of Singapore. Having looked at 25 to 30 artists over a period of six months, Mr Safdie settled with the works of the five artists as each of the works resonates in a particular way with the architecture. The 71-year-old worked very closely with the artists from the conceptualisation and design stage, right through to the final output of the artwork. The art pieces are not only a visual feast for the eyes, but also play on environmental influences such as water, wind and light to create a dynamic integration between art and architecture.
