Singapore Visitor Center, opposite Somerset MRT station, Singapore. This place provides free Wi-Fi for tourists!!
This is a brand new Singapore Visitor Center, opened 17 Feb 2015. Housed in a Peranakan building, right opposite Somerset MRT station.
I check out the Visitor center and the friendly tourism ambassador shows me how she can make good recommendations for the tourist, using the new interactive computer system, and even print out a coloured map and itinerary for the tourist. This is really cool!

Singapore Visitor Centre Relocates to orchardgateway@emerald
A one-stop touch-point catering and customising to visitor needs
Singapore, 16 February 2015 – The Singapore Visitor Centre (SVC) will have a new home at 216 Orchard Road; situated next to orchardgateway@emerald, from 17 February. Set in a two-storey conserved Peranakan shophouse in the heritage-rich Emerald Hill area, the centre is designed with the visitor experience in mind, from the spatial layout to the range of services available.
The SVC will provide more services, including the sale of arts and entertainment tickets, on top of existing tours, accommodation and attractions booking options. It will also house a retail space that offers locally-designed souvenirs - curated based on what one can Eat, See, Hear and Learn in Singapore. Visitors can bring home a variety of souvenirs that take inspiration from traditional local food such as kueh tutu to Singapore's distinctive HDB flats.
A key feature of the new Centre is the use of technology to help visitors explore more of Singapore. Besides two large screens that display a variety of places of interest and events in Singapore, there are four interactive information kiosks that allow visitors to first browse and select places to explore, before putting them together in a digital itinerary. This personalised itinerary can then be printed immediately and/or emailed to the visitors' smartphones. Complimentary WiFi will also be available for visitors to stay connected within the SVC, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
STB Director, Visitor Experience & Capability Development, Ms Choo Huei Miin said, The new Singapore Visitor Centre aims to be a one-stop service and information touch-point that adds to visitors' overall experience in Singapore. We hope that, through the effective use of technology coupled with personalised and warm assistance provided by our Customer Service Officers, visitors will have a better understanding of what Singapore can offer and be inspired to explore and uncover our many hidden gems.
While the first level of the centre is devoted to key visitor services, the second level is an event space that will be open in the second quarter of the year. There will be temporary exhibitions and interactive installations that will present different facets of Singapore, adding layers to deliver a compelling Singapore story.
The new SVC will replace the current one located at the junction of Cairnhill Road and Orchard Road, which will cease operations on 17 February. Visitors can also approach SVC@ION Orchard and Chinatown Visitor Centre @ Kreta Ayer Square. For more information on locations and operating hours, please visit the YourSingapore website at:

Welcome to Gardens by the Bay one of the most amazing and botanical gardens in the world. A few things you can see here is the flower dome, the cloud forest, several gardens and the supertrees.
The Supertrees are living and breathing sculptures rising above the gardens. For epic views, head up to the top of these supertrees and stroll along the 22-meter-high aerial walkway known as the Skyway to experience the Marina Bay area from a bird’s eye view.
Next up we visit China Town! It's a great place to do some souvenir shopping, eat some local Chinese food and walk around.
One of the highlights about visiting Singapore is to eat at a hawker center. This is a huge food court full of stalls. You need to eat Indian, Malaysian and Chinese. It's very inexpensive!
The Marina Bay Sands Hotel is one of Asia’s most iconic buildings and home to the world’s most renowned infinity pool. To visit the pool you must be a guest of the hotel, but you can experience incredible views from the Skypark observation deck or from one of the 57th floor restaurants.
Welcome to the Singapore Zoo! It was founded in 1973, we take a quick tour through the zoo to see the asian animals. Singapore Zoo was the first zoo in the world to have free roaming orangutans.
The River Safari is located right next to the Singapore Zoo. It’s a fascinating journey through some of the world’s largest river systems like the Nile and the Mississippi. I was especially excited to visit the Giant Panda Forest.
We are inside Thian Hock Keng Temple. It was constructed in the 1840s using the best materials from China at the time. In 1973 it was declared a national monument. Admission is free!
Orchard Road is a major tourist attraction, and when you look around it’s easy to see why. This is where you come for some serious retail therapy, and with more than 10 shopping centers, there is plenty to choose from. The 20-storey Paragon is perhaps the most famous along the strip, with stores like Gucci, Prada and Burberry. It boasts over 200 stores in all.
The Singapore Flyer is the worlds largest observation wheel. This ferris wheel has 28 capsules, each fits 28 people and it takes 28 minutes to do a complete rotation.
Little India is where the Indian community settled in over 200 years ago. Now a days it is a commercial district. They have converted these shop houses into restaurants, shops, jewelry stores and offices. It's a great place to buy gold and try indian food!
Singapore’s Changi Airport is second to none! You may actually want to have a layover here because of how many things there are to do – from a butterfly garden, to shopping and dining, relaxation areas, movie theatre, art installations, a swimming pool, and much much more.
Changi is my favorite airport in the world!

Here is a recap of what we did from 8-12 August, when the Singapore Visitor Centre featured a programme of exciting activities – from complimentary guided tours about Singapore’s history, favourite local food and lesser-known attractions, to free samplings of local delicacies such as chicken rice, kaya toast and laksa.

8 Aug: Free 30-min guided tours of Singapore’s past, present and future (9.30am, 10.30am, 6.30pm). Commemorative EZ link cards will be given to first 200 participants.
9 Aug: Free artisan roasted coffee, latte art demonstrations and cookies (10am – 4pm)

And while I'm at the hawker centres, I sample same delicious Singaporean food like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Chwee kueh, Shave Ice, and of course Satay. In addition to telling you what is awesome about each hawker centre, I will also tell you how to get there, and which ones just received the Michelin star and Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. Visitors can share their aspirations for Singapore through a 'Message Pillar' at Gardens by the Bay
The public can now enjoy a series of immersive artworks at Gardens by the Bay. It is part of the Future Together event, which caps off the Singapore Bicentennial. Among the installations is the Message Pillar -- a light projection that allows viewers to read and post messages using a smartphone app. During the launch, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat called for Singaporeans to share their aspirations for the country on the installation, and see how they can come together to forge a shared future.
