Artsy Bunny Travels: Sinseondae, Geoje Island, South Korea (거제도 신선대)
Last spring, we took a trip to Geoje Island with Waegook Travels. One of the places we visited was Sinseondae.
During the trip, we met a Filipino family ( Mommy Elvie with her daughters, Ate Sienna and Ate Ziedy).

Sineondae Cliff and Observatory are Located at a distance of a mere 10 minutes south from the popular tourist attraction Windy Hill.

Where the gods rest
Among the scenery of Geoje Island, which is full of the beauty of the sea of Namhae, the eight most outstanding places are called Geoje Palyeong.
Each one shows the best of nature, but the view of Sinseondae is probably the best among them.
If you walk towards the sea along the small promenade that begins at the Haegum River Theme Museum, which has a beautifully renovated school, the spectacular view of the rock that harmonizes with the sea looks as if you have gathered the magnificent view of the Haegeum River.
There is an observatory on the rock formation that forms a cliff toward the sea, and you can see the spectacular view of the sea where Hammok Beach and the small island are combined.
It's a beautiful place for dramas and commercials.
Take an hour to explore the observation deck and the surrounding landscape.
You may hear the song of the sea comforting your heart.

신들도 쉬어가는 곳
남해 바다의 아름다움이 가득한 거제도의 풍경 중에서도 가장 뛰어난 여덟 곳을 거제팔경이라 부른다.
하나하나가 자연이 선사하는 최고의 모습을 보여주지만 신선대의 경관은 그중에서도 으뜸이 아닐까 싶다.
폐교를 예쁘게 단장한 해금강테마박물관에서 시작되는 작은 산책로를 따라 바다를 향해 걸으면 바다와 어우러지는 바위의 장관은 해금강의 절경을 하나로 모은 듯 아기자기하다.
바다를 향해 절벽을 이루고 있는 기암괴석 위에 전망대가 있으며 함목해수욕장과 작은 섬의 모습이 그림처럼 어우러지는 바다의 장관을 볼 수 있다.
드라마, 광고의 촬영지로 눈에 익은 선명한 붉은빛의 주유소마저 바다를 배경으로 해서 그런지 아름답게 느껴진다.
한 시간 정도의 여유를 가지고 찬찬히 전망대와 주변 경관을 둘러보자.
마음을 편하게 다독이는 바다의 노래 소리가 들릴 것 같다.

My Trip to Geoje Island (Windy Hill, Oedo, Mongdol Beach!) | Korea Vlog
Hi everyone! This new years I decided to get out of Seoul and explore a new place so I took the bus to Geoje Island and I'm so glad I did! It's ridiculously gorgeous and I can't wait to share it with you! This was my only full day on Geoje. Let's go to Windy Hill, Oedo Botanica, and Mongdol Pebble Beach!

Geoje Island, South Korea 거제도 여행
This video is the last of my three part summer vacation road trip. My wife and I took a ferry from Geoje to the island of Oedo Botanical Garden. This island has a time limit of 1.5 hours so we felt a little rushed while trying to enjoy the scenery. After the island, we went to Sinseondae to check out the seaside lookout point. Luckily, Windy Hill was just a short walk across the road so we also stopped by. Windy Hill was a touristy area with a big windmill, we didn't find it very interesting. Our last stop in Geoje was Gujora beach, which was very crowded because it allowed beach camping. I would definitely recommend coming here to camp during the off peak season.

Sinseondae Cliff & Observatory
Another beautiful place that you can visit in Geoje is Sinseondae Observatory. You will immediately see it when you pass a gas station after the coastal highway of Nambu-myeon. “Sinseon” in Korean means supernatural being thus it is believed that the area attracts such “beings”.
Walking out onto the rocks of Sinseondae provides you with a picturesque view of beautiful landscape, blue sea and surrounding islands. Prepare for a steep climb if you want to get up to the observatory. The view on top of the rocks is worth it.

Continued our exploration to Geoje Island with a ferry tour which was breathtaking!!! Wonderful sights and many things to see!!! It was amazing to see that Korea has this parts of the country to offer as a brilliant sight to see. The ferry tour was by far the highlight of the trip! Looking at the surroundings made me feel so close to nature and at peace with everything. The nice cool breeze and the magnificent sights pretty much brings me back to my home in Hawaii :)
