Sintra to Praia das Maçãs on the vintage interurban tramway.
The car used was 'Cross Bench' No 6.
This video is in 'real time'.
The trip is about 40 minutes, which is a long run for a 100+ year old tram, and the €3 fare for a one way trip is good value.
The little 4 wheel tram can only hold approx 30 passengers. There were no signs to the Sintra station and the tourist loop buses don't go to it's station. Given the limited capacity of the trams this is probably just as well.
The only down side of the operation is the excessive amount of flange squeal in the many curves.

We got on Sintra tram to go to the beach of Praia das Maçãs. However the tram was not able to go ahead because the car parked on the track, so We had to get off the tram there.

The Sintra tramway is a seasonal narrow gauge tourist tram line in Portugal. It links the town of Sintra with Praia das Maçãs, passing through Colares and close to the Praia Grande. It has a length of some 11.5 kilometres.

O elétrico de Sintra, é uma ferrovia em bitola de 1000 mm que liga a vila de Sintra à Praia das Maçãs ao longo de aproximadamente 13 km’s.
Funciona regularmente nos meses de Verão às sextas, sábados, domingos e feriados com partidas de hora a hora em ambos os sentidos entre as 10h e as 19h, numa viagem de aproximadamente 45 minutos. Nos restantes dias, com exceção da segunda-feira, funciona sob o regime de aluguer.
O canal para a circulação do elétrico, bem como os carris, foram construídos entre 1902 e 1904, ano que oficialmente foi inaugurado o troço. O primeiro troço de 8,9 km’s inaugurado a 31 de Março daquele ano entre Vila Velha e Colares. Os restantes 3,78 Km’s foram inaugurados a 10 de Julho do mesmo ano, e explorados pela então Companhia Cintra Oceano, que tinha dado lugar à Companhia do Caminho de Ferro de Cintra à Praia das Maçãs.
Foram várias as companhias que administraram o serviço de elétricos de Sintra, até ao ano de 1975 em que este foi substituído pelo serviço de autocarros. Todavia, em 15 de Maio de 1980 foi reiniciada a circulação, mas somente entre Banzão e a Praia. A 30 de Outubro de 1997, o percurso foi estendido à Praia das Maçãs. Finalmente, pelo ano das comemorações do primeiro centenário o elétrico voltou novamente a Sintra, administrado a partir desta data pela Câmara Municipal de Sintra.
