SIX NATIONS INDIAN RESERVE, ONTARIO, CANADA
This video is mostly for those in Canada, USA but especially outside NA who have never been on an Indian Reserve (or Reservation, two words, same meaning).
Apparently, as per Wikipedia as well, this particular Indian Reserve in the largest in entire Canada.
Downtown Six Nations Indian Reserve is the Village of Ohsweken, Ontario:
Indians do not pay any taxes on the Reserve, that includes sales tax, gas tax, property tax also outside their Reserve as well:
Not bad to be an Indian in Ontario, no idea about taxes for Indians in rest of Canada.
Gas prices are obviously very low on the Reserve, about 35c/liter ($1.2/gallon) lower than rest of Ontario, no gas taxes on the Reserve, that's why everybody who lives around the Reserve plus tourists who are aware of this place always stop by for a pretty cheap fill-up.
As you can see, locals have no problem with the word RED INDIAN, I personally spoken with a store owner near the gas station and she said she's very proud as being a Native INDIAN and she does not see the word as offensive in any way. We all know how (overwhelmingly) White Liberal Media AND White Liberals in generals brand you as racist when using this word, NBC/Bob Costas vs. Washington Red Skins the best example possible. Also how many ppl have been inside such Indian Reserve to know that Red Indian word is widely accepted by Native Indians.
YES, No Canadian Flag on the Reserve except for the Park along with American, British and their own flag, also they have their own Police, Fire, EMS Stations, so pretty much they consider themselves like an independent country.
The Reserve is located very close to Caledonia, Ontario, the place of ugly clashes btwn Indians and local white residents, OPP always being on the Indian's side, it's very politically incorrect to be against Indians nowadays.
Friendly advice to everybody going inside the Reserve: DO NOT SHOW ANY CANADIAN FLAG OR PRO-CANADIAN SIGN ON YOU AND/OR ON YOUR CAR. For your own sake of course.
At 06:23 in the video you'll see something extremely rare in Ontario and maybe in rest of Canada as well: a 65 KPH speed-zone sign, first time I've seen such sign in 20+ years of driving on Ontario roads.
So anytime you are around Hamilton, Ontario, feel free to visit the SIX NATIONS INDIAN RESERVE, never forget that anything you buy on the Reserve is TAX-FREE!!!

Chief's Update: Edu, Bill C-10, Watermain Cleaning, Thermal Treatment Plant & More
***Please keep Annotations turned ON for important information***
Education – The review of the Federal Schools is still underway. Anyone interested in speaking with the consultant (teachers, parents, students, community members) is welcome to do so and can contact our office or contact Kris Green, who is Six Nations representative on the Working Group. All of these interviews are confidential and the name of the person being interviewed will not be released. The final report for this review is not due until December.
Bill C-10 – We are finalizing our presentation to the Senate Committee on Bill C-10. We have just received word that we will be invited to appear before the Committee as early as the week of September 15th. I have also done media interviews with the Hamilton Spectator, the Brantford Expositor and a freelance journalist to let people know why we are opposed to this Bill. I believe that, as a community, we all need to come together to fight the passage of this Bill. If we are not successful in killing the Bill, we should fight to ensure that First Nations are exempt from it.
Gaming – As I mentioned in my last update, Council is looking into moving forward with other forms of gaming, in addition to the Bingo Hall, in an effort to generate more revenue for our community. Staff have been asked to do more research and will be reporting back to Council. Reports will be provided to the community as we move forward. In addition to that, we need to start looking at alcohol in our community. This is an issue that our community needs to deal with and start thinking about how we handle and regulate it.
Watermain Cleaning Program – The Public Works Department will be undertaking a watermain cleaning activity known as swabbing. The expected start date is October 13th, 2014, and the duration is currently unknown. During this time, people who are connected to the water mains will be asked to do certain things before, during and after the water mains in their area are swabbed. This information will be on a pamphlet that will be distributed to each home and business that is connected to the watermain. Pamphlets are also available at the Public Works Office located at 1953 4th Line in Ohsweken. Written notice will be provided to each home or business that will be affected 24 hours prior to the watermain cleaning being undertaken in the area. For those who utilize the truckfill for their water supply, please anticipate intermittent disruptions in service, as the truckfill will be closed while the watermains in the area are being cleaned. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, but this is a necessary maintenance procedure. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Public Works at 519-445-4242.
Thermal Treatment Plant ¬– We are very close to a date to test the machine that is now located at the landfill site. In order to test the machine, we need to re-start it. As soon as the date for the testing is established, we will provide sufficient notice to the community. Once the testing of the machine that is there now is complete, we will decide on next steps and inform the community accordingly.
