Skanderbeg Statue in Prishtina Kosova
George Kastrioti Skenderbeu known as Skanderbeg (1405 -- 1468), is one of the most prominent historical figures in the history of Albania and of the Albanian people.
Skanderbeg successfully ousted the Ottoman Turks from his native land for over two decades, halting Turkey's efforts to spread Islam through a predominately Roman Catholic western Europe. Albanians fought one of the bloodiest wars in the Balkans to repulse the invasion of their ancient Illyrian homeland by the Ottoman Turks. The saga of Albanian resistance to the Ottoman Turks was written with the blood of many Albanian Kings and to their people. For a quarter of a century Skanderbeg and Albanian people prevented Turks from invading Western Europe. Thus stopping a Ottoman Islamic Europe which could have changed the history of the world.

“Let’s go” has pretty much been our life’s motto since we met nearly 25 years ago. We met in New York, moved to San Diego together, and married in Lake Tahoe – all within five months. When you know, you know – you know what we mean?
Now, after raising two adventure-seeking boys, we are ready to get out and explore some more. Our children have begun their lives and now it’s time to begin the second-half of ours.
We wanted a challenge and something fun, so we are starting an adventure of a lifetime. We’re calling it #60×60. Our plan is to travel to 60 countries by the time Kim turns 60 (that’s in 6 years by the way).

(Even) If it is known since a long time ago that we do not trust Pristina and the Pristina government. STORYLINE
Serbs and ethnic Albanians on Saturday welcomed a landmark deal between the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia, but some remained doubtful the deal would hold amid rejections from Serb leaders in Kosovo's tense north.
Serbia and Kosovo reached the EU-brokered agreement on Friday, capping six months of negotiations.
In what would be an extraordinary change, the deal appears to recognise the authority of the Kosovo government over the north of the country, which is inhabited predominantly by ethnic Serbs.
Under the deal, Serbs in the north will have their own police and appeal court.
Both sides have also agreed not to block each other's efforts to seek EU membership.

Pristina, Kosovo - Travel Around The World | Top best places to visit in Pristina
Top best places to visit in Pristina, Kosovo
Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo.
Prishtina is the economic, administrative and cultural center of the country. It is called the “City of Coffee Bars” for many outdoor cafes found almost everywhere.
The Skanderbeg Square is the central plaza of town named after Albanian national hero whose statue can be found there. It is at the end of the Mother Therese Boulevard, the main pedestrian street, and next to the National Theater.
Nearby, housed in an Austria-Hungarian style building, the National Museum has a rich collection of prehistoric objects.
Tucked back in the old town streets, composed of a traditional guest house, an arts studio and a family home, is the Ethnological Museum.
Between these museums are situated two significant mosques:
The Jashar Pasha Mosque.
And the biggest and most important city mosque, the Sultan Fatih Mosque.
Opposite the Fatih Mosque is one of the best landmarks of old town, served as a means of informing the city, the Clock Tower.
In the neighborhood is another religious site, the St Nicholas Church, the only remaining operative Serbian Orthodox Church in Prishtina.
At the end of the Mother Therese Boulevard there is one more big city square, named after the Hero of Kosovo, Zahir Pajaziti.
Close to this square is the Newborn Monument, a memorial unveiled on the independence day.
And behind it is the Palace of Youth and Sports, a multipurpose arena located next to the City Stadium.
A strangely beautiful building of the National Library is even more interesting in construction, built in the campus of the University of Prishtina.
Beside the campus is the Mother Teresa Cathedral, a Roman Catholic Church currently under construction.
10km outside Pristina is the Gračanica Monastery, a crucial religious center, placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
1 hour drive from the capital is the Visoki Dečani Monastery, a major Serbian Orthodox Church also protected by UNESCO.
In Pristina it’s also worth to visit the biggest green area in a center, the City Park.
And the Park of Martyrs, a cemetery with a panoramic view of the city.
