Skinny Dip Falls MM 417 near Mt Pisgah NC Mountains South of Ashville
Skinny Dip Falls is a nice somewhat local swimming spot located at MM 417 near Mt Pisgah of the Blue Ride Parkway in the North Caroling Mountains South of Ashville.
You have to be careful around falls, even small one like this, as you never know when it might rain up the mountain, and you might not even know it, but the water level and current can change without notice.

Myron C.'s Review on The Dyrt:
▶︎ Primitive, Dispersed Camping in a National Forest with No Modern Amenities
When you want to camp away from the crowds and do not mind being without running water, electricity, toilets, showers, or any other amenities that you find at developed campgrounds, this one is for you ... maybe. I say maybe because when I stayed there, I heard and saw pickup trucks until the wee hours of the morning. Since the campsites are along a dirt road in a national forest, miles away from civilization, it can be intimidating if not scary at times. I camped by myself and felt isolated (which is a good thing), and the scenery is great. You will be beside a rushing creek, and the sound of the creek is relaxing. If you want a little more security, you can camp a tenth of a mile away at Sunburst Campground, which is a developed national forest campground. The pros of these campsites are that they are peaceful (most times), they are in the heart of the mountains, they are only a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, they are between Shining Rock and Middle Prong Wilderness, and there are plenty of trails. The cons are that previous campers have left a lot of trash and since it is dispersed camping, it is not picked up on a regular basis. Other cons are the late night cars and/or trucks, the lack of amenities, and that you have to cross a spillway to get to it. Despite all the cons, I got through it okay and really did enjoy my time there.

Graveyard Fields 4K, Blue Ridge Parkway - Lower Falls Hike
Graveyard Fields is a beautiful area off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina, located at MP418.5. Graveyard Fields offers stunning views, hiking trails, and two different waterfalls. Due to a large fire, that destroyed the area in the early 1900s, the area is full of unique vegetation, including wild blueberries.
Lower Falls, is a very beautiful and popular waterfall, that is also a popular swimming hole in the summer.

Graveyard Fields and Ivestor Gap - Pisgah National Forest, NC
A cloudy day of hiking around Graveyard Fields as I did a big hike for waterfalls, peaks, and fall colors. Starting at Black Balsam Knob Rd I took the MST and Graveyard Ridge Trail into Graveyard Fields. This hike was primarily in Pisgah National Forest, but I brushed up against the boundaries of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Shining Rock Wilderness. When I reached Graveyard Fields I first hiked up to Upper Falls on Yellowstone Prong. From there I went downstream to Second Falls. Both of these waterfalls are easily accessible from the parkway and usually crowded. Graveyard Fields is a very popular stop, especially for fall colors. The fields are a vast, shallow bowl around the headwaters of Yellowstone Prong that suffered a devastating fire in 1925. The soil has not fully recovered so most of the vegetation are shrubs at the 5,000+ foot elevations.
After Second Falls I continued downstream on the MST towards Yellowstone Falls, which is an off-trail bushwhack to an isolated area. Getting to the river was easy, but the tiny hobbit tunnel down the base was steep, slippery, and very wet. The dense fog covered all the trees and weeds in water, so I was wet all day long. I skipped Skinny Dip Falls because of time.
Afterwards I followed the MST back to the Graveyard Ridge Trail and took it to Ivestor Gap. A gorge I noted in the video as Dark Prong is actually Greasy Cove Prong. The clouds cleared for about 45 minutes when I got near Ivestor Gap so I had a few views, but when I started the Art Loeb Trail south they covered the peaks the rest of the hike. Too bad Tropical Storm Nate was ruining the weather. Tennent Mountain was my 26th peak for the South Beyond 6000 Challenge, I'll have to return for some awesome views in the future.
Hike was 14.1 miles in 7 hours and 40 minutes. This hike actually occurred on 10/7/17 even though my intro states 10/8/17. I already deleted the clips so I can't redo the intro.

Black Balsam Knob on the Art Loeb Trail - Pisgah National Forest (North Carolina)
This is a stunning, short day hike in the Pisgah National forest. With the summit at over 6200ft, this hike offers breathtaking views. The trail remains well-above tree line for over 3 miles. The Art Loeb Trail is one of North Carolina's most strenuous trails, while offering some of the most scenic views. This is a great short hike to be able to experience some of those views without too much effort or planning!
