Puffin 3 Skomer
Skomer is a magical place to visit, a haven for wildlife it is most well known for its puffins, yet there is so much more to the bird paradise.
Off the coast of Pembrokeshire this island, with its sister island Skokholm, is surrounded by some of the richest waters for wildlife off the British Isles. The seas are full of fantastic wildlife, from delightfully coloured sea slugs to magnificent cetaceans. The island itself attracts a huge array of wildlife which shelters in its bays and inlets.

The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales is delighted to launch the 1st of 4 promotional videos funded by the Visit Wales P4G programme. These videos focus on our amazing wild places and experiences throughout South and West Wales.
This video focuses on The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales' Nature Reserves around South and West Wales. The other 3 videos that will come later this month focus on Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife, Skomer Island and Skokholm Island.
We believe that everybody should be in touch with their wild side even if its only for a few minutes each day, this could include listening to the birds, taking a wild walk or even just looking up at the tree canopy. Our promotional videos aim to provide inspiration to unleash your wild side!
Some footage included in this video has kindly been donated by Chris Lawrence.
Visit welshwildlife.org for more information.
St Annes Lighthouse
Not a very good video. A very windy St Annes in Pembrokeshire, South Wales, UK. A very windy day where it was difficult at times to stand upright. Not good near a cliff edge.
Also on the video is Skokholm lighthouse.
The old lighthouse at St Annes went for £1,250,000!! Interior shots here
Wildlife of Lundy - Seabirds
Lundy is a small island in north Devon with important seabird colonies and a marine protected area.
In summer 2018 I was a long term conservation volunteer, surveying seabirds and seals. In my free time, I filmed and photographed the wildlife, especially underwater. It was an absolutely incredible 3 months with many mind boggling encounters, the best of which was filming puffins and guillemots underwater at sunset and sunrise!
Thanks to: Tim Davis and Tim Jones for providing the seabird data, Sean Irving and Fin Moorhouse for giving advice in post production, Dean Jones for giving me the opportunity of being a conservation volunteer, and many other people on Lundy for making it a great experience!
I would love to receive some feedback on this film. If you think a few things could be improved, or if you think it's all rubbish, please get in touch by email to josh@joshuaharriswildlife.co.uk
Storm Petrels on Skokholm
You cannot see them but you can here them.
Recorded during the daytime on June 5th 2013, Skokholm, Pembrokeshire, Wales.
They have a very distinctive call which is seldom heard during the day as they only fly inland at night to avoid predators.
