Skopje Fortress (Skopsko Kale) in the center of Skopje, Macedonia
The Skopje Fortress is located on the old part of Skopje overlooking the Vardar River. The fortress, perhaps protecting a lost Roman city, was built in the 6th Century during the reign of Emperor Justinian I. Additional walls were added during the 10th & 11th centuries. Archaeological evidence unearthed within the walls indicates settlements were located here as far back as 4000 B.C.
It’s strategic advantage in the Skopje Valley is obvious and served a vital role during the ancient days of Skupi (Colonia Flavia Scupi). Today the fortress not only serves as a cultural monument but also with the nice landscaping and restoration inside, it serves as a great destination for family walks and cultural events.

I'M ON A QUEST: For culture cuisine, and connection — in every country in the world. For over ten years I've been riding around the world alone on my motorcycle. I'm not going to stop until I've ridden through every country in the world.
WorldRider TV is my YouTube Channel that captures the raw essence of solo travel around the world on a motorcycle. Some videos are raw and rough while others are edited and produced. Everything is real and authentic. I'm not out to ride the toughest roads, climb the highest mountains, search for ghosts, or solve mysteries.
I am out to meet the beautiful people of this world, to try to understand their culture, and learn about their history. All along enjoying good food, drink, and laughs. We all share much more in common that we have differences. I'm blown away by the kindness of strangers and how many times I've been brought into the homes and families of people everywhere.
There are no strangers in this world, only friends I haven't met. SO I hope I meet you. Meanwhile, join me and subscribe to my YouTube Channel, follow me in the usual places like Instagram and Facebook.
================
It all started on July 4th—symbolic for freedom and independence in my home country, USA. I set off alone on my trusty BMW F650GS Dakar motorcycle to travel the world. I didn't know exactly where I'd go or how long it would take. After three years traveling through thirty-five countries and five continents I returned home in California and wrote the book that documented that adventure in stories, photos, and recipes: FORKS: A QUEST FOR CULTURE, CUSINE, AND CONNECTION.
Then came a one-year cross country book tour in his legendary FORKS Van”, then a television show on THE COOKING CHANNEL, inspirational speaking gigs, and much more. All along I continue to ride the world months at a time, returning home to work and save for the next segment—always leaving my motorcycle in some garage somewhere around the world.

Blooper tape - 21 August 2017 - Serb Embassy - Skopje Macedonia
I went to the Serb Embassy in Skopje, Macedonia to check out the hysteria over alleged spying and “Russian interference.” The only turbulence I came across was a howling wind and noisy traffic which played havoc with my microphone. After 2 takes, I decided to call it a day.
There were no protestors, outside the Serb Embassy not even from Macedonian “internationalists” -who also coincidently happen to be be of Serb background - Borjan Jovanovski, Pavle Bogoevski, Levica’s(Leftist Movement in Macedonia) Branimir Jovanovic. In fact no protests at all by Macedonian “anti-nationalists.” Very odd internationalism, very selective. Strange internationalism which never touches Serb nationalism or interference in Macedonia other than a cute “critical” tweet or an article hiding behind the guise of internationalism !

Campaign for Better Tourism - Kale Fortress
One of series of animations I did for the Government of the Republic of Macedonia as a part of a campaign for better tourism. All the elements where provided to me by the graphic designer and I did the animation and added the music, the voiceover and the audio effects.
Ancient Theatre of Ohrid
The Ancient theatre of Ohrid of the Hellenistic period is located in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia. It was built in 200 BC and is the only Hellenistic-type theatre in the country as the other three in Scupi, Stobi and Heraklea Lynkestis are from Roman times. It is unclear how many people the original theater used to seat, as only the lower section still exists. The open theater has a perfect location: the two hills that surround it keep it protected from winds that could interfere with acoustics during performances.
