Skorrahestar
Skorrahestar offers short and long horse riding tours as well as hiking tours in the fjords by the Atlantic Ocean. We are located in Norðfjörður in East Iceland. where we have our farm Skorrastaður for many years now.
Here visitors can connect with nature, country life, folklore and the unique icelandic horse. Hiking and riding paths are chosen carefully to create lasting impressions with our visitors. The tour length is not measured in kilometers but by experiences. Local guides, reliable horses and our housewife´s delicacies form the basis of the very good comments we receive from our guests.
Accommodation is also available at our farm.

Sunshine Pancakes: tea time in Iceland
Northeast Iceland
Shot by Carole Terwilliger Meyers on September 12, 2014
After riding an Icelandic horse at their stables, I enjoyed afternoon tea with the owners in their home at Skorrastaour farm in the valley of Nordfjordur. On the menu were sunshine pancakes—crepes served with blueberry preserves and whipped cream—and round donut-hole-like love balls. The pancakes are served to celebrate the return of the sun after a sunless few months that occur here every winter. Here owner Jona Arny Thordardottir tells us about the tradition, with super man husband Sigurdur (Siggi) Olafsson by her side.
