2) Playa del Carmen is a city located along the Caribbean Sea in the municipality of Solidaridad, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is a popular tourist area in eastern Mexico. Playa del Carmen features a wide array of tourist activities due to its geographical location in the Riviera Maya. It has also been the destination of PGA Tour golf tournaments and the set location for various television shows.Playa del Carmen is located within the Riviera Maya, which runs from south of Cancún to Tulum and the Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve.
Playa is a stop for several cruise ships which dock at the nearby Calica quarry docks, about six miles (10 km) south of the city. The Xcaret Eco Park, a Mexican-themed eco-archaeological park, is a popular tourist destination located just south of the town in Xcaret (pronounced shkar-et).

Getting a Massage in Mexico (Americans Living in Guadalajara Vlog)
In today's Mexico vlog, we talk about what to expect at a massage in Mexico, how much it costs, and what our Mexico spa experience was like.
► Want to learn Spanish? Try this:
After hitting our big 1k subscriber goal, we decided to treat ourselves to a relaxing massage in Mexico! Right now, we are in Guadalajara, Mexico to be exact. If you're asking, Are massages good in Mexico? or What's a massage like in Mexico? or Are massages in Mexico cheap? hopefully this video gives you a better idea of what you might experience when going to a spa in Mexico. Before this, we had gotten two massages while in Mazatlán, so we compare the experiences between the two cities and also the similarities and differences between US and Mexico massages.

the beach is paradise found - Mexico Playa Del Carmen
I love the beach here, the sand is soft and seems to go on for ever, the water is warm, clear and that incredible blue, palm trees and jungle offer a back drop and all of this is just a few minutes stroll from great all inclusive resorts.

Tour & Reviews of Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya,,Cancun. Mexico 2019
This hotel is just amazing. The architecture of the buildings, the décor of the rooms, the furnishings on the beach are simple, classy, beautiful and tasteful. And comfortable. This made our stay a pleasure. There are a lot of things to point out, so I'll try to make it simple and organised, and rank things in order from where they are closer to perfection to where they might benefit from improvements.
1 - THE POOLS. These are fabulous. There are three, each different and all outstanding. They all have great design, shape (lots of nooks and curves), features (steps, seats), temperature, and are build with a great material, a textured concrete that resembles rough granite and is pleasant to the touch and anti-slip. The first pool is closest to the beach. This has a bar in it, accessible from the water only, and is the busiest and noisiest pool, with music and activities on and off. The second pool is very close to the first and further in from the beach. This one is similar in appearance but a bit quieter. In both of these pools the surface material is light grey which gives the pools' water a light blue/green colour similar to the water in the sea (see later). The third pool is furthest in, much quieter, with a darker surface material which makes it a deeper blue, more similar to a tropical inland lagoon than an open beach. We used all three every day, kind of moving along them during the day as we retreated to our room.
2 - GARDENS. Stunning and with some wild-life (coati, agouti, iguanas etc).
3 - ROOMS. Rooms are great. Spacious, tasteful, well-lighted, comfortable, clean. Nice bathroom, with a large Jacuzzi and a large shower: stone glass and wood everywhere. We had an amazing terrace with couch, table and chairs, and a huge built-in planter.
4 - BEACH. Blue water, great sand, superb furnishings and service. There are algae in parts of the sea-bottom, and this can be a nuisance and make the water in patches darker, but the huge bonus is that this makes the location a great spot for sea-turtles. There are (fenced-off) turtle nests in several spots on the beach, and a few snorkelling explorations will almost certainly lead to encountering one of these amazing animals. We bumped into one at our first attempt and stayed watching her for twenty minutes while she was peacefully grazing on seaweed and swimming periodically upwards to breathe. Worth the whole trip in itself.
4 - SERVICE AND STAFF. Flawless.
5 - FOOD AND DRINKS. Drinks are good quality, with proper ingredients (branded spirits), generally better than in similar resorts of the all-inclusive variety. Now the food. We find that two weeks in a resort will lead to generally getting tired with the food offering: although the level here was generally good, this was in the end the case here too and I was longing for some of my own home-cooked food. My advice to the management would be to take much greater advantage of the great opportunity offered by the fact that the resort is in Mexico (Mexican cuisine is great!). There is a Mexican restaurant but after 3-4 visits you have basically exhausted the menu, and then what? Two poolside restaurants that have great settings, but average food; and other restaurants (Italian, French, Asian) which are rather enclosed and not too true to their inspiring cuisines. I wish everything were simpler, fresher, and less fussy (cut the mayo please). I do not think people should go to all-inclusive resorts for high-end meals, but for flawless ones, which can take repeated visits. A favourite for us became the frequent, but unpredictable, al fresco buffet-style feasts. And breakfast!
All in all we had a great time and would visit again

Pluses:
The food I tried was really good.
The food was good. The beach is amazing.
Minuses:
After checkout at noon they cut off my bracelet and my wife's bracelet but we wanted to stay longer because my family was still there for another few nights. They said that we would have to buy a day pass. After arguing with them enough they let us stay until 4pm... Absolutely not impressed that I couldn't spend more time with my family. Extremely overpriced.
The shuttle situation is strange. I feel like they didn’t think it through before building the resort. You have to keep moving off the sidewalk for the golf carts to come through. I was there for a wedding and the mother of the groom had to walk because there was no shuttle available for her. They need to rethink the whole shuttle process.

Playa Del Carmen Panama Jack Resort 2019
Playa Del Carmen Panama Jack Resort 2019
Traveled with one family member (49 and 59 y/o). We stayed for 7 nights. I have traveled to the CanCun, PDC, Riviera Maya area many times since the mid-80s. I found Panama Jack Hotel to be an AMAZING value!
From the moment that Super Shuttle delivered us to the entrance, to our departure, we were treated like family by the amazing and helpful staff. From the curb-side luggage collectors, to the front desk, wait staff, bartenders, activities staff and housecleaning, they really made you welcome and appreciated as if you were family.
The bad news: There's just no getting around the issue of Red Tide. So, let's address it head on. It is caused by climate change. It stinks and has destroyed the beach area. They are studying ways to prevent it from coming ashore. But, it is not going away soon. The pool area is spacious with an abundance of lounge chairs and even an area, just off the pool, where they have brought up sand and lined with loungers, for those who want to feel like they are on a beach. If walking out of the hotel into an amazing beach is a key feature for you, this may be a deal breaker.
The location of the hotel, only a couple blocks from 5th Avenue, makes for easy access to great bars, restaurants, shopping and clubs! You will also be close to the pier for a ferry trip to Cozumel, if you like.
There is ALWAYS something delicious being served 24/hrs a day; you will not go hungry and always have a great selection of food and desserts. Ventanas, the buffet restaurant, does a great job of serving up a selection much better than expected from an all-inclusive hotel. There is also a Sushi bar, and Italian restaurant, a Brazilian steak house and a Mexican restaurant.
The amazing staff, amenities, and prime location make Panama Jack Resort a great value! I'll be returning and highly recommend it to others!
*A special THANK YOU to Jose and Marissa for never letting my glass get empty at the Jack's Landing lobby bar! :)
**If you have no interest in time share presentation, simply avoid the Guest Platinum Services people in the light blue shirts and khaki pants. You will be handed a flyer offering a selection of free gifts as a welcome to the hotel. If you have the 90 minutes to spare, and are 'seasoned' in saying NOOOO over and over to a high-pressure sales pitch in exchange for about $100 worth of credit for optional tours like Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xcaret, etc., then go for it. Otherwise, just say no thank you and keep walking.
