Der Skytrain Düsseldorf verbindet den Flughafenbahnhof mit dem Düsseldorfer Flughafen. Der Düsseldorf Skytrain kann kostenlos genutzt werden. Die Einschienenbahn fährt auch die Terminal und die angeschlossenen Parkhäuser P4 und P5 vom Düsseldorfer Flughafen an.

Düsseldorf Flughafen [Fernbhf.] mit ICEs, ICs, SkyTrain, Regionalzüge (DB, ERB), S-Bahn (ET 422)

Der Flughafen von Düsseldorf hat sowohl einen eigenen S-Bahnhof, als auch diesen Fernbahnhof, an dem neben der S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr auch einige ICEs und alle Regionalzüge inkl. der eurobahn halten. Bei meinem Besuch hielt keiner der ICs, von welchem einer mit der Hertha BSC Werbelok bespannt war. Da dieser Bahnhof abseits des Flughafen-Terminals ist (nicht wie jener andere S-Bahnhof), verbindet der SkyTrain diesen Bahnhof mit dem Flughafen, welcher auch in diesem Video neben einigen Flugzeug-Aufnahmen gezeigt wird.

The airport of Dusseldorf has a terminal train station and this long-distance train station, whre also regional trains, the eurobahn and Rhein-Ruhr suburban trains stop. When I was there, no IC stopped there; one of them was pulled by the Hertha BSC advertisement loco. Due to the fact this train station isn't at the terminal, there is a SkyTrain connecting this station with the airport. This one is shown as well as some airplane recordings.

Sky Train Transfer Düsseldorf Flughafen - Sky Train trip at DUS Airport

Den von Siemens gebauten Sky Train / H-Bahn gibt es seit Mitte 2002. Er fährt von der Terminals zum Bahnhof D-Flughafen von 3:45h - 0:45h täglich die 2,5km in 10m Höhe und in ca. 6,5 Min. Es gibt 5 Züge a 2 Kabinen, die ca. 2000 Personen p.Std bei max. 50km/h transportieren können.
ACHTUNG: Was kaum jemand weiß: als einzige Flughafen H-Bahn weltweit muß für die Fahrt ein Kurzstreckenticket gekauft werden!

Düsseldorf Sky Train built by Siemens was introduced mid 2002. It's active daily between 3:45h a.m. to 0:45h a.m. between airport terminals and Düsseldorf Airport station = 2,5 km at a hight of 10m and a max speed of 50 km/h. Transfer time is 6,5 min.There are 5 trains with 2 cabins, each, and a transport capacity of 2000 people per hour.
WATCH OUT: Hardly known or little information available about the fact that you have to buy a ticket, which seems unique worldwide. Bad service, Düsseldorf!

Join me on a ride on the Skytrain, a suspension railway at Düsseldorf airport. We are departing from the airport railway station and go all the way to the terminus Terminal C. Nice views are offered. Recorded with a mobius action cam on a nice August 2015 morning.

Der SkyTrain verbindet als vollautomatische Hängebahn den Flughafen mit dem gleichnamigen Fern- und Regionalbahnhof. Sie fährt seit 1996 und verkehrt im 5-Minuten-Takt. Das System wirkt heute etwas aus der Zeit gefallen, nach dem Motto: So stellte man sich in den 80er-Jahren die Zukunft vor.

This video is the journey from Dusseldorf Flughafen Bahnhof (Airport Railway Station) to the Airport Terminals on board the Skytrain which is a suspended monorail sometimes referred to as a H-Bahn, where the H stands for 'hanging' and Bahn meaning train.

It's more like a rollercoaster theme park ride than a mass transit system, but a mass transit system it is, and a very novel one at that. The entire journey length is around 8 minutes, although this film has cut out all the dead time at stops. If you get chance to go on this, then do it. It's fun and it's free. You can also get a driver's eye perspective by sitting at the front. The Skytrain is computer controlled and drivier-less also.

The video shows views along the journey including the multi-storey car parks, and grass / woodland around the airport.
