Skypoint Observation Deck - Gold Coast
SkyPoint is an observation deck located at the top of the Q1 on the Gold Coast, Australia. It towers 230 metres above the Surfers Paradise beach, giving viewers a 360 degree view of Brisbane to the north, the Gold Coast hinterland to the west, Byron Bay to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the east.
Over the course of a 3-year construction period from 2002 to 2005, Q1 was built. When the tower opened on 26 October 2005, it featured an observation deck known as the Q1 Observation Deck.
The SkyPoint Observation Deck is located on level 77 and 78 of the Q1 building. It features a museum, weather station, theatrette and lounge bar across two levels. It is Australia's only beachside observation deck and has room enough for 400 people.

MY REVIEW-
The highest point in Gold Coast. Housed in the Q1 tower is the Skypoint, the observatory of Gold Coast. As I have stated before too there should be an observatory on the highest point in every city of the world. This enables people to see the city clearly from above and give a first hand experience of how the city looks.
Skypoint at Q1 is located so well that you would never regret being here. The cost of the tickets was AUD 27 for adults and AUD 17 for the kids and is valid for one whole year with unlimited visits. We are lucky to have discovered it and have enjoyed and visited it because it was not in our tour package itinerary. We felt unlucky because we discovered this place on the last day. If we would have discovered this earlier then we could have used the tickets to visit this place at least once every day.
Anyways it is a beautiful place. You get to see from the elevator ceiling of it going up and down. The Skypoint place is 360 degrees and you can go all around to see all sides of the city. It is a huge place and also has a bistro and bar. What else one need to chill on top of the city.
The views were amazing specially the coastline or say the beach line and the waves hitting the beach. The long beach could be so clearly seen and enjoyed. What a view.
This place is a must visit and make sure to put it in the very first place in ur tour package. Moreover it is a killer deal with the unlimited visit tickets. I highly recommend this place.

Q1 SkyPoint Observation Deck, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast
The SkyPoint Observation Deck on the 77th floor of the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast gives a wonderful 360 degree view of the coast and Hinterland.
On a clear day you are able to see up to around 60 km in every direction. This compares to the maximum of 3 kilometers that is visible at ground level in any direction.
You are able to choose when you want to visit the SkyPoint Observation Deck. You may want to come during the day to take in the wonderful views and to get your bearings when you first arrive on the Gold Coast. Or perhaps you may want to come in the evening to see the lights of Surfers, Broadbeach and the other areas of the coast and hinterland.
Or you may even decide to do what we did and to come in the late afternoon and to stay through, watching the sunset over the Hinterland and then see all of the lights come on all over the coast.
The choice is yours.
Whatever time of day or night you decide to visit you are sure to enjoy your time up on the SkyPoint Observation Deck.

SKYPOINT CLIMB & Observation Deck Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast
Hey there,
I had an awesome opportunity with Skypoint to join a bunch of other Photographers for a special night to take photo's on the highest point of Australia. The Skypoint Observation Deck and Skypoint Climb has been an experience available at Surfer Paradise, Gold Coast for a number of years and this is the second time for me to do it.
We climbed from 230 metres to 270 metres above sea level with absolutely amazing views of the beautiful Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Taking your camera up is not normally allowed, but is something they will be offering more. You would be surprised on the amount of effort they go to to strap your cameras to your harness and ensure they don't drop.
Very thankful to Dreamworld/Skypoint and glad to meet all these other Photographers
Enjoy
Thanks
Chris

Sunset at Q1 SkyPoint Observation Deck, Surfers Paradise
Visiting the SkyPoint Observation Deck on level 77 of the Q1, which is one of the tallest residential buildings in the world, is a great way to begin your holiday on the Gold Coast.
You can enjoy 360 degree views, up to 60 km in all directions, watch the people on the beach below and the tiny cars driving around Surfers Paradise.
It is possible to arrive at the SkyPoint Observation Deck in the afternoon and then to watch as the sun sets. The clear, unobstructed view of the sun setting behind the Hinterland was gorgeous on the night of our visit to the Q1.
Find out more about the Q1 SkyPoint Observation Deck and our holiday in Surfers at our holiday blog:
