PanCan Survivors Skydive | Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Skydive Perris
For the sixth consecutive year, a group of pancreatic cancer survivors, family members and friends gathered in Southern California to skydive together, on a quest to live life to the fullest.
This year was also a celebration of life, honoring a beloved Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) Orange County Affiliate volunteer Lupe Romero, who passed away of pancreatic cancer in February 2019. Romero had survived the disease for seven years and had been a faithful member of the skydiving crew.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is dedicated to fighting the world’s toughest cancer. In their urgent mission to save lives, they attack pancreatic cancer on all fronts: research, clinical initiatives, patient services and advocacy. Pancreatic cancer takes 91 percent of its victims within five years and kills more people than breast cancer in the United States.

Tandem Skydiving is the most exhilarating way to make your first skydive! Imagine the rush of exiting the skydiving aircraft and accelerate up to speeds of 120mph! With just about a minute of free fall, you will experience a rush of adrenaline which will take your breath away! You will also have the opportunity to pull the ripcord (Don't worry, your instructor will do it for you if you wish) as you decelerate to enjoy a 4 minute canopy ride while soaking in the breath taking views throughout Southern California, and truly understand why birds sing.
Tandem Skydiving is the quickest and safest way to enjoy your first skydiving experience, as you will be securely attached to a United States Parachute Association (USPA) licensed Tandem Master.
Skydive Elsinore adheres to and surpasses the highest levels of safety standards set for by the USPA. Additionally, we have an incredible safety record and have the longest running civilian Skydiving operation in North America which was established in 1959.
If you are looking for scenery, then look no further! Skydive Elsinore is by far the most scenic skydiving center throughout Southern California! With views of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, Lake Elsinore, Mount Palomar, Big Bear, and Mt. San Jacinto, you will quickly realize why Skydive Elsinore is the most scenic, popular Skydiving Center throughout Southern California.
Being the closest Skydiving Center to Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange and Riverside Counties; Skydive Elsinore is a short drive from anywhere throughout Southern California!
Your instruction will include specific training on the equipment you will use with your Tandem Master, you will also learn about the aerodynamics of arching your body in free fall, along with how to assist flying the parachute with your instructor.
Video which will last a lifetime
You can never repeat your very first skydive - the excitement, the adrenalin, the pure freedom you feel that is utterly unlike anything else in the world. You can't repeat it but you can relive it!
We offer professional freefall photography services for your first jump and for training purposes. Your camera flyer will jump out of the plane with you, video and still cameras on his/her helmet, following you throughout freefall.
Your video and still pictures will include some pre-jump footage, up close freefall footage and the after jump excitement. Don't miss out on capturing forever this once in a lifetime experience!
What is the Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) Program?
The AFF course is the unsurpassed method of training if you are interested in jumping with your own equipment and ultimately becoming a licensed skydiver. The AFF course is the most advanced skydiving training course offered and is endorsed by the United States Parachute Association (USPA).
On your first AFF Level, you will receive 4-6 hours of ground training, followed by the jump utilizing your own equipment and jumping with two USPA certified instructors. Under normal conditions, you will jump the same day as you complete the ground training.
The AFF Course/Program is structured in a two-phase training progression program. Phase I consists of eight jumps, where you will be jumping with an instructor on each level. Each one of the eight jumps is regarded to as learning categories (modules). Each category features a performance objective that must be accomplished prior to advancing to the next level. Completing Phase I qualifies you to make solo skydives under the supervision of an AFF qualified Instructor. At this point, you will be allowed to skydive on your own as you will now be on Student Solo Status.
What you can expect on your first jump
After reaching the desired altitude (12,500'a.g.l.), it is time to free-fall with your two instructors who will grasp your harness on each side. Upon exiting the aircraft, you will quickly accelerate to over 120 miles per hour for up to 60 seconds in free fall! You will then pull the deployment handle (ripcord) and enjoy a breath taking five minute flight under your own parachute. Yes, these parachutes truly fly and you get to steer your parachute during your descent. We will help you guide your parachute via radio communication and control commands for a safe landing. After the skydive, you will be critiqued and given a First Jump Certificate and a skydiving logbook. As you pass to the next learning level, your instructor will outline the next lesson plan and explain the new objectives.

Body cam footage of Perris arrest of flower vendor - Perris, CA, USA
A flower vendor has sued a Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy, Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff, the department and the county over an arrest last year in Perris, where she claims she was beaten and slammed to the ground.
A video of the June 7, 2017 arrest taken by a passerby went viral.
At a Monday press conference held in their South Pasadena office, lawyers for Joaquina Valencia alleged the deputy asked her for papers and assumed she was an undocumented immigrant because she is a Latina with brown skin. They pointed out that Valencia is a U.S. citizen and has lived in the United States for four decades.
They said she still has problems with her wrists from being handcuffed four to five hours. Valencia, who wore braces on both wrists, cried while making a statement in Spanish.
“She wishes this would not happen to anybody and that she is scared to death now of officers,” said Ralph Rios Sr., who is one of Valencia’s attorneys.
Luis Carrillo, who is Valencia’s other lawyer, said his client did not deserve the treatment given by the deputy. He said they’re seeking justice and and changes in the training of the deputies.
“This police officer has no business being a police officer,” Carrillo said. “She was unjustly treated. She wants justice.”
The lawsuit, which was filed in Riverside County Superior Court on June 27, alleges her detention and arrest constituted unreasonable search and seizure, that the deputy used excessive force, that the county and department were negligent because of their inadequate supervision, training and discipline of deputies, and that the defendants conspired to violate Valencia’s civil rights.
The lawsuit doesn’t mention an amount but Valencia is seeking damages, attorney’s fees and costs of the lawsuit. Valencia’s lawyers on Monday also released the video recorded by the passerby and the video from a camera on a second deputy at the scene.
As to why they held a press conference now when the lawsuit was filed in June, Carrillo said they were waiting for the criminal charges to be dismissed.

Jump for the Cause 2009 at Skydive Perris
Picture it: the biggest pink cloud you have ever seen floating in the blue skies of Southern California.
Im very excited to tell you about an event that will bring 200 dynamic, extraordinary and fearless women from around the world to participate in the 2009 Womens World Record Skydive formation in Perris, California, all to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Research and Treatment at The City Of Hope in Southern California.
Jump For The Cause (JFTC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and from September 21-27 2009 we will be hosting a thrilling event that attracts the most sought after professional skydivers in the world. Donning pink jumpsuits, 175 women will be joining hands to build the largest all-female freefall formation ever attempted!
JFTC was founded in 1999 and since then has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for breast cancer research and treatment. After our last successful event in 2005, we set the current Womens World Record of a 151 all-female formation and JFTC wrote a check for a quarter of a million dollars to the City Of Hope! Our contribution was used to support a breast cancer research laboratory in the state-of-the-art Mickey and Alice Kaplan Research Building, which opened just a few years ago.
Our past JFTC events have attracted mass media. Our publicist is actively pursuing some of the best coverage we have ever had including major news and cable stations. We invite you to join in this high-profile and worthy event! Sponsorships for both financial and product contributions are available.
In addition to accommodating our 200 international female participants, we have a mens support team participating in their own simultaneous skydiving event. We would like to provide a small token of our appreciation and give all participants a Goodie Bag to include water, beverages and snacks for the week-long event.
Thank you for your consideration!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Melanie Peschio

CA Freefly Record, 64-Way Head-Down
Over 100 skydivers took to the skies over Perris, CA to set a new California Freefly Record. Weather holds forced the formation to be reduced to 64 skydivers, but in the days leading up to the record nearly 10 jumps were made with over 100 skydivers sharing the same air space. These are just a few of the keystone moments from that week. Additional provided by Brian Buckland (BrianBuckland.com), Iwan Van Der Shoor (IwanVDShoor.smugmug.com), and Alana Fulvio.

A group of skydivers have broken the world record for the biggest mass night-time skydive.
The group of 64 carried out the daredevil stunt in sky above the desert in Eloy, Arizona, United States.
The breath-taking images were captured by photographer Laszlo Andacs, 46.
Laszlo said: To have 64 jumpers together in the sky during day light is a kinda routine these days. But have that many people in the dark is something else.
