Днес 22.05.2012 около 3:00 се усети силно земетресение в София. Много граждани напуснаха домовете си и се отправиха към паркове и междублокови пространства. Повечето хора използват колите си за подслон в създалата се напрегната ситуация и в момент на страх се опитват да предпазят себе си, близки и роднини. Според повечето източници земетресението е било с магнитут около 5.8 - 5.9 по скалата на Рихтер. И в момента продължават по-леките трусове, които се повтарят на приблизителни интервали от около 30-40 минути. Епицентърът на земетресението е в югозапад от Перник с дълбочина от 10 км. Земетресението се е усетило в по-голяма част от страната и по данни на гражданска защита няма сериозни разрушения и пострадали.
Полицията организира събралите се по улицата автомобили и ги насочва към вътрешната част на парковете с цел предпазване при по-силен трус от евентуалните отломки от разрушения на близки постройки. Във видеото се вижда как автомобилите влизат в Южният парк, там където нормално никога не се допускат моторни превозни средства през която и да е част от деня.
За капак на всичко в 5:43 над София заваля проливен дъжд и хората, които са излезли навън от страх от силни вторични трусове са затруднени още повече.

Aftermath of the 5,6 Magnitude Earthquake in Sofia, Bulgaria (2012) (Old Footage)
This was filmed on May 22nd 2012, mere hours after the earthquake took place. All of the bricks and cement scattered on the ground fell from 58m (190ft) from the very top of my apartament building. I remember the exact moment all of that fell down and created a super loud bang. Also, it fell right on some electricity cables and cut them off and there was a very bright flash. The whole event confused the hell out of me, cos I thought it was a huge thunderstorm with lightning strikes and wind...
