Sleeman Breweries Increases Production Capacity by 50 Percent in Two Weeks with Virtualized Process
Sleeman Breweries needed to increase production capacity to meet increasing consumer demand for craft beer. With support from McRae Integration, Sleeman implemented a virtualized process automation system based on the PlantPAx DCS with Meridian BrewSoft software, now FactoryTalk Brew. Within two weeks, the brewer increased production capacity by 50 percent.

Guelph Public Library Our Stories with the Sleeman Family
The Guelph Public Library is proud to present Our Stories. Enjoy these 8 mini-film shows about 8 local Guelphites filmed by 8 local film makers as part of our Canada 150 celebrations.
Who are we? Meet the Sleeman family and their rich historical experiences in Guelph filmed by Phil Maurion, Blackline Films. BlackLineFilms.com
Andrew Goodwin, Our Stories project manager and owner of beautifulguelph.com, shares, Guelph is full of people who have fascinating stories, and is also home to many story-tellers. This film-festival connects these two groups, and the result is an eclectic collection of unique short films. We have Phil Maurion from Blackline Films telling the story of the Sleeman family, Dave Horst from dh productions speaking to Guelph's propensity towards environmental stewardship, Elia Morrison helps tell author Adwoa Badoe's story about her experience as an advocate for afroculture, and Sandy Clipsham from Forever Tree Films discusses Guelph's role in the refugee crisis with Jim Estill. In addition, Angus McLellan, who is a leader and instructor in Guelph's film scene, speaks to author Thomas King about modern indigenous Canada, Nicholas Brown speaks to the family of one of Guelph's oldest citizen, Erin MacIndoe Sproule explores francophone culture in Guelph, and I (Andrew) have the honour of telling a bit of the story of William Winegard, who is a WWII vet, former University of Guelph president, and former member of Parliament. We've been fortunate enough to have this opportunity to connect a small sampling of compelling Guelph citizens to local creatives, and we're excited to share 8 short-films that tell a few Guelph stories, a few of Our Stories.
This project was funded by the Government of Canada. Financé par le gouvernement du Canada.

From The Top with John Sleeman
Black Isle Group presents From The Top. Host John Miers welcomes guest John Sleeman.
Born in Toronto and raised in Ottawa, John Sleeman spent his early adulthood somewhat oblivious to his family's brewing history; his father was an executive for Bell Canada and their family brewing history was rarely discussed.
At 16 John left school and his home in Ottawa to work. Despite his upbringing, John's life path was destined to include good brew.
After getting married in England, he and his wife returned to Canada to open their own English pub stocked with authentic English beers. Soon after, the two of them went into business with his wife's father to bring beer from around the world to Canada under the name Imported Beer Co.
After a few years in the business, John was paid a visit by his Aunt Florian, who came armed with an historic Sleeman bottle and the words, 'It's time you found out about your heritage.' An empire was then on its way to being reborn.
Sleeman Brewery has come a long way and grown a great deal under the enthusiastic guidance of John Sleeman - which just goes to show how far the will to take a risk, hard work, and a family brewing history can take you. Check our site for the 24/7 live stream and so much more!
