Our first day exploring Bucharest and we head to the old town - the city center of the Romania capital - to get a feel for what it's like to travel here. The old town is understandably touristy, as any city center like that is, but was an awesome place to walk around and vlog.
Bucuresti, as it's known to locals, has a really unique feel to it that we're struggling to put our finger on. This is our first time in Romania and there's still so much more we need to see, vlog and travel of the country. Be sure to subscribe to see more of our Bucharest vlogs!

ONE DAY IN ROMANIA’S CAPITAL
#Romania #Bucharest #Easterneurope
Is it possible to explore Bucharest in just one day? ⇩⇩Click ‘show more’⇩⇩
Seeing as Bucharest is such a unique city we wanted to see if we could explore Romania’s capital in just one day. In this video, we wander through Old town. Visiting some of the historic churches, important buildings, inns and Instagrammable spots.
There were obviously some places we weren’t able to fit in, but if you’re short on time then it definitely is possible. Especially if you spend your time around the old town area. After the communist era, the city centre is only 20% of what it used to be, so compared to other places in Europe it has a smaller old town, which is great for a day of sightseeing.

12 HOURS ROMANIA TO BULGARIA BUS | Bucharest to Plovdiv Travel Vlog 2018
Romania to Bulgaria by bus was a long travel day! In this travel vlog we left Bucharest and arrived in Plovidv more than 12 hours later...⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
The bus from Romania to Bulgaria was actually really easy and cheap. Although it was a long day of travel as the vlog suggests, but we were happy with being patient on the way out from Bucharest.
Arriving in Bulgaria was nearing the end of the travel day, but we still had to grab another local bus to get to Plovidv - our home for the next few vlogs.
The bus around Europe seems to be an easy way to go and even though this travel vlog was showing our 12 hour day it was still pretty painless! Now we've arrived in Bulgaria after a week or so in Bucharest and ready to explore a new city - Plovdiv!

IS ROMANIAN FOOD GOOD?! Bucharest Step By Step Food Tour Vlog 2018
A Bucharest Food tour was the best intro to Romanian food and cuisine. Bucharest Step By Step tours showed us the best Romanian meals and dishes.⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
We didn't know what to eat in Romania. In this vlog we take a food tour in Bucharest and got to taste so many of the best Romanian dishes it's insane - we got the answer! Romanian food is pretty varied and influenced by a lot of other cultures, this tour with Bucharest Step by Step tours keeps things broad and covers a lot of the traditional meals from Romania while also introducing a lot of other dishes.
Check out Bucharest Step By Step tours, they offer all sorts of tours (not just food) and we highly recommend Laura!
The food we tried just kept coming, we needed to be rolled around Bucharest! Another incredible day of travel making for a vlog that will you hungry for food!

What is Bucharest, Romania like?! This is our first time in Romania and we headed to the city centre to explore...⇩⇩Click ‘show more’⇩⇩
This was our first week in Bucharest and already we feel so excited to call this place home for the next month. Bucharest is known as “The Little Paris of the East” and we can definitely see why. The architecture here is really interesting. Aside from beautiful places to walk the city itself is affordable and has easy access to transport.
The locals here are friendly and we found the language interesting as it has a lot of similarities to Portuguese, Spanish and Italian. We are excited to get to know more about Bucharesti and it’s locals.

Tour of the Monumentale Cemetery | Italia Slow Tour
The Monumentale Cemetery is probably Milan's most important location. Above the central entrance we see the statue of Gloria, that welcomes the illustrious names of our country's past. The Cemetery itself, it is virtually an open-air park museum: the tombs and the burial chapels are constructed in different styles and built in different ways, that could tell the history of the city of Milan!

Corvin Castle Romania
■ HUNEDOARA, ROMANNIA: Few Europeans and Americans visit Romania. Even fewer visit cities other than Bucharest and Bran. I recently took a train from Serbia to Timisoara. From there I continued by rail to Cluj, Simeria, Hunedoara and Deva. I took the same route back again but leaving the country to Budapest..
It's easy to enter Romania by rail from either Serbia or Hungary. Trains are slow though. In this video I give you my impressions from visiting this country with the terrible reputation. In all of Europe it's considered perfectly ok to hate on Romania and Romanians.
Ask the French, Italians, Norwegians, Swedes and British people what they think about Romanians and you're likely to be told that they are thieves, bad people and God knows what else.
I find this to be untrue. On top of that when inside Romania you will find the people quite open considering the country's location in the old Eastern bloc of Europe. There are much angrier countries in this part of Europe. Trust me on this one!
Romania will likely never be the next Monaco but there are some cool things to see in the country. Personally I like the Transylvania region as it has some amazing castles and fortresses. Best in the class was the gothic renaissance castle known as Castelul Corvinilor. Or Corwin Castle in english.
Supposedly Vlad the Impaler, or Vlad Tepes to use his real name, were held as a prisoner here towards the latter part of his life. He is the man who some know as Vlad Dracul and was the main inspiration behind the Count Dracula novel. This castle can be found in the city of Hunedoara.
In the neighboring city of Deva there is also an epic fortress. You can see both in the video.

We Drove on the Greatest Driving Road in the World | Transfagarasan in Romania
Welcome back to Romania everybody - this is our final episode here in this incredible country and we are going to be heading back to Bucharest on of the greatest roads in the world.
Tour we are on with Romanian Thrills:
Where we stayed in Sibiu:
Artisans Boutique Villa - Sibiu
Our morning started nice and slow in Sibiu as we walked around the town at sunrise before jumping into the car and heading into the fast lane to drive through the Transfăgărășan - a paved mountain road crossing the southern section of the Carpathian Mountains of Romania.
After going on a hike, having some lunch and our last papanasi :( we continued back onto Bucharest.
The next day we headed out to a local winery to blend our own wines whilst tasting some Romanian reds and whites.
Wine tour in Bucharest: Bucareasca
To end our final day in Romania we headed to the largest wellness centre in Europe - Therme Bath & Spa.
Thanks again for all your support on this series :) next stop Poland!

Is Bucharest expensive or affordable? ⇩⇩Click ‘show more’⇩⇩
After spending just over one month living in Bucharest, Romania I really wanted to share with you guys the cost of living here. n this
The costs I cover in this vlog can be found at these timestamps:
➪ Accommodation: 1:09
➪ Transport: 2:14
➪ Eating out: 3:07
➪ Groceries: 4:10
➪ Gym: 5:45
➪ Phone plans and sim cards: 6:15
➪ Europe city price comparison: 7:17
Bucharest was a great city to stay in, we highly recommend it to other remote workers out there looking for a long term place to stay. The Internet was good and public transport was frequent.
Overall out of all of the European countries we have travelled and lived in so far 1. Ukraine was by far the cheapest, 2. Poland coming in second, 3. Romania, 4. Croatia 5. And of course, Austria was the most expensive undoubtedly.

Topgear UK came to Bucharest with supercars and took them below the palace, in the hidden 20km worth of tunnels, and raced them under the parliament building. Definitely a highlight of their trip to Romania!
Just one block over from the Peoples Palace of Parliament is Cereal Crunch, where you can get over 100 different cereal options at their cafe! Not a 'Romania Thing' at all but one of our strange must visit options in Bucharest haha
