One of the biggest sheep farm in Taiwan, Cingjing farm is another beautiful place in Ren-ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. It is closed to Taichung and Kaoshung. Cingjing farm offer awesome and breathtaking mountain scenery that one should not missed when visiting Taiwan. Very easy to visit there by all mode of Transport. The Small Swiss Garden, or 小瑞士花園, was the first tourist attraction my family and myself went to during our first day in Cingjing. This attraction has two nicknames, which are “Taiwan’s Little Switzerland” and “Paradise in the mist”. Personally, this garden does not gave me the impression of Switzerland. One fact for sure is Small Swiss Garden and Switzerland are both located at the Northern hemisphere of our planet Earth. I will agree to call this garden “Paradise in the mist” totally, because of the foggy surroundings that we experienced during our visit in this month of February. Like the Chinese folklore, the foggy sight gave my family the feeling that we are somewhere in the heavens with the fairies and the deities. Does that sound familiar?
Exploring the Small Swiss Garden will take about 1 hour as the area is not very huge. In this man made garden, there are some artistic sculptures, a large pond with ducks and fishes and lovely flowers. Admission fee for adult is NT $120 and child under 120 cm is free. The weather continue to drizzle in the morning, making the temperature drop further down to 10 degree Celsius. Such a low temperature wasn’t what we expected and Kayden has started to shiver when we were in the garden.
Upon entering the entrance, we are greeted by two lovely ducks. There are vending machines available for tourists to drop coins and buy some grains to feed the ducks. Unlike Australia where the animals are all fenced up in the field, these friendly ducks are free to roam around the garden.

Cingjing Farm is a group of farms located at Ren'ai Town in Nantou County between Hohuanshan and Wushih. It rises to a height of 1,748 meters covering an expanse of around 760 hectares. The average temperature is around 16 degree Celsius. Daily temperature difference is around 2 to 5 degrees. The high altitude occasionally forms humid fogs. Thus it was nicknamed paradise in the fog. The spacious farm covers with green pastures. Wide open green hill suitable for hiking and activities. The campsite next to a lake provides excellent camping ground for up to 1,000 campers. The alpine vegetation here consists of temperate fruits especially peaches, apples, pears and plums. Spring is the perfect time to see the flora blossoms. Summer is the time for the tasty fresh fruits.

We hired a cab for 10 hours at NT3400 that took us to major tourist attractions. (Just plain old google searched)
First stop was to Cingjing Farm, a collection of farms at an altitude of 1800m also nicknamed Paradise in the Fog. Lovely scenery and the Sky Walk of 1.2km has 6 look out points. Definitely recommend coming here!
Before the Sky Walk is a small market area with snacks, but we saved our stomach for the famous Chicken Shop just a 5 minutes drive from the area (oh, but it wasn't that good....).
Spent about 3 hours at Cingjing Farm (including lunch), we skipped the Swiss Garden because we needed to go to Sun Moon Lake (and it's dark by 5.30pm).

This year on my 30th birthday, I really had a wonderful birthday that I traveled all the way to Taiwan with my hubby. This video of photos that I had taken is on 09-11-14 and this was my first time to view the sunset and sunrise exactly outside of my room only.
