Teak Boat Popcorn Eating Tour - Bangkok Canals
My last day in Thailand October 2017 I took a popcorn eating tour through the canals of Bangkok with two lovely Thai ladies and the boats Captain. We chowed down copious amounts of popcorn and enjoyed each others company under the hot South East Asian sun. Sawatee Kap Y'all -

One Day in Bangkok | A short travel film
One Day in Bangkok | A short travel film

A long layover in Bangkok, Thailand, doesn’t have to mean twiddling your thumbs for hours in the airport.
Forget about making yourself comfortable in the terminal and instead embark on an adventure in the capital city.
Even if you only have a day, you can see the sights and experience the culture all before your next flight is ready for takeoff.
Begin your adventures at the Grand Palace, where you’ll feel like royalty.
Built in 1782, this regal compound is home to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Siwalai Garden, and several museum exhibits.
For your next stop, head to Wat Arun, the “Temple of Dawn,” and marvel at its porcelain prang, or tower-like architecture. While you’re in Bangkok, don’t miss the out-of-this-world Erawan Museum, which is housed in an enormous three-headed elephant statue.
Then view the city from on top of Wat Saket, a Buddhist temple, and ring the bells for good luck.
If you have 24 hours in Bangkok to spare, save some time for a teak boat adventure and float through the market canals, and later take a peek at the Democracy Monument.
Whether you’re interested in seeing all the Buddha statues or learning about the past, one day in Bangkok is more than enough time to explore.
Ditch the terminal and experience Thailand’s largest city on your next extended layover. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bangkok, Thailand | 30 Tourist Attractions in 2019
Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. The boat-filled Chao Phraya River feeds its network of canals, flowing past the Rattanakosin royal district, home to opulent Grand Palace and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple. Nearby is Wat Pho Temple with an enormous reclining Buddha and, on the opposite shore, Wat Arun Temple with its steep steps and Khmer-style spire.
Traditional teak buildings like the grand Vimanmek Palace and the residence-turned-museum Jim Thompson House contrast with the city’s skyline of modern high-rises. Shopping options range from the upscale mega-malls of the Ratchaprasong district to the thousands of tiny stalls at overflowing Chatuchak Weekend Market. The city’s renowned food scene spans traditional street-cart snacks – spicy, sour, sweet and salty – to upscale international restaurants. Bangkok is also known for its exuberant nightlife, with venues ranging from swanky rooftop lounges to basic backpacker bars and nightclubs of the notorious Patpong district.

FANTASY OF SIAM / THAILAND 1947 TRAVELOGUE MOVIE 53304
This black and white documentary film on Siam is dated 1947. (The name Siam was changed back to Thailand in 1948.) It was produced by Edmund Reek, and narrated by George Carson Putnam. It opens with the Democracy Monument in Bangkok, Thailand, followed by views of the streets and shrines (:11-:36). Buddhist monks enter the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, where the magnificent royal architecture is shown (:37-:51). The Golden Urn receives the bodies of kings when they die (:52-1:02). Military dignitaries arrive and are seated (1:04-1:17), and King Rama IX arrives (1:18-1:40). The Bangkok streets are full of people, rickshaws, and coolies (1:42-1:58). The market is full of buyers (1:59). There are many networks of canals full of small boats (2:15). Some sell rice (2:28), others tropical fruit (2:37). Elephants, coolies, and a primitive railroad are used to move teak wood logs (2:50-3:35). A sacred white elephant (actually just a lighter shade of gray according to the film) bathes and is fed (3:36-4:04). A religious procession of people in traditional garb with the tall pointed white hats march down the street carrying floats (4:06-4:37). As part of the ceremony, men swing on a suspended scaffold to snatch a bag of money with their teeth off a pole (4:38-5:22). Children temple dancers perform traditional dances in full ceremonial costume while a band of seated men play various drum instruments (5:24-6:20). Ruins of temples are shown with their giant statues of people (6:21-6:40). The Temple of the Golden Mountain (Wat Phra That Doi Kham) is accessed via a long winding stairway (6:41-6:55). The Temple of the Dog is one of over 18,000 temples, some shown in quick sequence (6:56-7:40).

Thailand - A fascinating journey from Bangkok to Akha | 3D Planet
To enjoy this 3D documentary about Thailand, remember to wear anaglyph 3D glasses* whenever the symbol appears on your screen.
Thailand lies in the heart of south-east Asia, with the Indian Ocean on the west and the China Sea on the east coast. It is a unique Asian country, attracting vast numbers of tourists from all over the world. 8 million visitors come each year, searching for exotic civilizations and perfect beaches.
Thailand is a spectacular country, with a colourful existence, many places of interest and a culture that is centuries old. The three main religions there are Buddhism, Islam and Christianity.
Close to 100 years ago, there were still around 200,000 elephants living in Siams’ forest. Today, the animals are unfortunately in danger of becoming extinct.
