TRANSCRIPT
[Bob] My father was a business man. Mum ran the home, did a lot of charity work You could say an ordinary child's existence.
[Ann] My relationship with my parents was very very good and I heard their conversations of course. And they would be talking about Hitler's new anti-semitic laws. I didn't entirely realise of course what that all meant.
[Bob] School was marvellous for the first three years between 1930 and 33. After which it started changing dramatically, quite rapidly. A number of my friends started turning up in Hitler Youth uniform. So at that point, the playground got rather more lonely. After Kristallnacht it was quite clear that Germany was not a place for Jews.
[Ann] And so that's why my parents then registered me onto the Kindertransport lists.
[Bob] My parents enrolled me they made an application for me to go on the Kindertransport.
[Ann] When we got to the station, there were hoards of crying parents and children.
[Bob] We could only take a small suitcase. There was nothing in the case to indicate that this might be a long separation.
[Ann] And as my parents hugged and kissed me, they whispered that I should look out of the train window at the next station but one. Well I did this, and there were my parents on the platform waving to me as if their hands would drop off. But you know that's the very last time I actually ever saw my parents.
[Bob] When I arrived in London, I was scared, excited, nervous.
[Ann] When we got to Waterloo, we were taken into a very large hall, and it was immediately obvious to me how different life was.
[Bob] I was naturalised while was in the army.
[Ann] I think the longer I lived in Britain, the more British I felt, and the more remote I felt from my German past.
[Bob] When I was demobbed in early 1948 I came back to London and joined a club for young refugees. The chairman was a friend of mine. And one day he brought along a new member and in came Ann. It took me three weeks to pluck up enough courage to ask her out but I knew this was something special.
[Ann] I was very attracted to him, but I also wondered about, I mean, well you used to wear a sweater with a hole in it, and I thought 'how could I possibly marry somebody who was wearing a sweater with a hole in!'
[Bob] And our first date was in... mid March and by 5th June I remember the date very well, I knew I was going to propose to marry Ann.
[Ann] But we had a very small wedding, so I almost promised myself, because Bob and I loved dancing, and I always promised myself for our golden wedding, we would have a big party and we would dance. And we did.

The Girl With All The Gifts – Official Trailer - Official Warner Bros. UK
The new trailer for The Girl With All The Gifts, directed by Colm McCarthy and starring Sennia Nanua, Gemma Arterton, Glenn Close and Paddy Considine. Coming soon.
The near future; humanity has been all but destroyed by a mutated fungal disease that eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh-eating “hungries”. Only a small group of children seem immune to its effects.
At an army base in rural England, this group of unique children are being studied, subjected to cruel experiments by biologist Dr. Caldwell. Despite having been infected with the zombie pathogen that has decimated the world, these children retain normal thoughts and emotions. And while still being subject to the craving for human flesh that marks the disease these second- generation “hungries” are able to think and feel making them a vital resource in the search for a cure.
The children attend school lessons daily, guarded by the ever watchful Sergeant Parks. But one little girl, Melanie, stands out from the rest. Melanie is special. She excels in the classroom, is inquisitive, imaginative and loves her favourite teacher Miss Justineau.
When the base falls, Melanie escapes along with Miss Justineau, Sergeant Parks and Dr. Caldwell. Against the backdrop of a blighted Britain, Melanie must discover what she is and ultimately decide both her own future and that of the human race.

Barmouth Beach Wales HD
Barmouth Beach in Wales, what a place! Serious motivation is required to find reason to not spend the rest of your life in this amazing part of the world.
Even if you're not into civil engineering or architecture, Barmouth Bridge along with many buildings within the town are spectacular and well worth pointing a camera at, from many vantage points!
This is a really beautiful place: miles of stunning sandy beaches and sand dunes combined with traditional seaside attractions. Beach is really superb and suited to all kinds of activities especially for families and their four legged friends!
Barmouth is situated on the south-west edge of the Snowdonia National Park, providing easy access to glorious walks in and around the mountains, including Mount Snowdon, the tallest mountain in England and Wales. If you are driving to Barmouth beware that the roads are small and winding. It's worth allowing double the travelling time on the sat nav!
There is a small theatre - The Dragon Theatre in the town if you fancy taking in a show - If not it's worth a look at the building which is a converted church. The town itself is worth a stroll around - lots here that is just as noteworthy as the Theatre. The seafront itself boasts the usual seafront stuff, including numerous places to eat and things to keep the kids entertained.
The most striking feature of the Barmouth landscape is the very long railway bridge that traverse the sea and serves the Cambrian Coast Line, well worth a pleasure journey to enjoy the scenic majesty that is Wales.

Watch Two Guys Sneak into a Movie Theater Pretending to Be One Person
More from Inside Edition:
Two best friends recently achieved their lifelong dream of sneaking into a movie theater dressed in one set of clothing. To pull off the prank, Bo Johnson dressed up in extremely loose fitting items to hide his partner in crime, Matthew, under his shirt and pants. Matthew had to wrap his arms and legs around Bo as tight as possible. Once he was concealed it made Bo look like an extremely large movie goer. Bo waddled over from the parking lot to the ticket counter and successfully purchased one ticket for him and his hidden friend.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I brought my friends Becca and Grant over to record this awesome song by A Great Big World. I haven't done anything quite like this project, and it was a blast. It is such a huge blessing to have friends that enjoy doing what you love to do.
If you were wondering about the way we shot the video, we actually had recorded this before Victoria Justice and Max Schneider put up their amazing cover of this.
Much thanks to Greg Fisher for working on the post-producing the audio for this track!

Differences between American & British spelling
Do you prefer American English or British English? In this lesson, I'll teach you some of the most common differences between American and British spelling. Learn these differences so that you can write words correctly in the United States and in the United Kingdom. Both styles of spelling are correct. However, it is important to know which style to use, especially if you do business or go to school in an English-speaking country. You can check spelling differences in a dictionary, but this lesson will teach you some of the basic differences in spelling. In New York City you can buy a liter of soda, but in Liverpool you would get a litre. Spell like an American in England and they'll think you weird. Spell like the English in America and they'll think you are very old-fashioned. Can you guess what style of spelling I prefer?
Test your international spelling skills:
TRANSCRIPT
Hello, guys. Welcome back to engvid.com. Today, we are looking at the differences between American English and British English, and in particular some of the spelling differences between our two ways of doing things. I'm not saying one is correct and the other is wrong, although I have a preference. So, important things to know if you want to be working in one country is you will need to use that country's way of spelling.
I'm going to be looking at some of the ways that we differ in our ways that we end words, looking at some of the consonants as well. It's not an exhaustive list, in terms of there are some other differences, but these are the major differences in the spelling between British and American English.
Let's have a look. Let's put our glasses on, have a little look. Mmm. our becomes just or. What is Benjamin talking about? Well, I've got four our-ending words from British English spelling: behaviour, colour, labour,-that's a little spade there for digging, doing a bit of manual work-rumour, passing a rumour about someone. So, what do our fellow Americans do with this lovely our formation? Well, unfortunately, they take out the u. They don't seem to like the u very much, so it disappears. Yeah, it just becomes or. It looks a bit sad, the r, standing there all on its own. Sorry, r. Sorry, I... I know you liked u a lot. Don't worry.
Right, moving on to re endings. A little bit different in the U.S. of A. They seem to think the e goes there, so: centre would become center. Theatre, the home theatre, Britain, but in America, it's theater, theater. A litre, we drink pints of beer, here, in Britain, but apparently you have a liter of beer in America. er, okay? We share some similarities, you know, some... They haven't... They haven't kind of told us to completely F off, because they think, you know, words like acre should be spelt with an re, which indeed they should. Okay, great.
Moving on to the l, l, l. Should we all practice saying an: La, la, el, el, la? Yeah, that's lovely. Feel kind of... Get up, have a little bit of a dance around. Yeah? I don't need to get bored, watching my videos, god's sake. Okay, l. Well, the Americans don't like doubling the l, so they don't like two pairs of legs; they just like one-legged people. Strange, I know. So, cancelled with my two long legs, they chop a leg off. Jewellery, okay? There's my two diamond rings just becomes one, and they seem to have got rid of an e as well. Okay? So the... There is a couple of different ways the Americans spell jewelry, this being one, losing an l and an e. Woollen, I've got a nice woollen jumper. Yeah? Two o's, two l's. Yeah? It's from two sheep, so I need to o's and two l's, but Americans can't quite afford the extra l, so it just becomes one. Right.
A bit more l action. Sometimes the Brits just like to use one l. We are in a bit of a financial crisis at the moment, so sometimes we can only afford one l, and the American's dollar doing just a balance, okay, so sometimes they have two l's. I enrol at university. If you're going to come to Oxbridge or Cambridge, make sure it's a one l enrolment for you. If you're going to Harvard, you're looking at two l's. If you fulfil... Fulfil the criteria... l there, l there, got the yankee doodles. Like... But two l's. Okay? I know you are a skilful student of English, which is why you have been attracted by the laws of the universe to watch this video now. Make sure if you're in Britain, you spell it like this; and if you're in America, with a double l. Okay?
So, just to recap with our l's, a little bit complicated: We like to... We like our double l's sometimes, and sometimes the Americans drop one. So... Okay, so you're... You've got a base word: jewel, cancel, if I've got an l at the end of the word, then normally I'll put an extra l on to the ending. Okay. Good.
