Social, smart, and playful, dolphins have long been the sweethearts of the aquatic world. A dozen dolphin may live and travel together in pods, and they often develop strong relationships, staying with their injured friends, lifting other hurt dolphins to the surface of the water so they can breathe, and even protect other species, as with humans, who have been protected from shark attacks by these friendly mammals, who surround the human and ward off the shark by striking it with their hard noses.
Often compared to domesticated dogs, these creatures are also well-known for being playful. When they jump out of the water while travelling, it is actually a utilitarian act, as it reduces friction and helps them to save energy, but they also frolic just for the fun of it, creating bubble rings for themselves to leap through, or even playing with other creatures by carrying it and passing it among other dolphins, or tossing it into the air, while happily communicating using a variety of clicks and whistles.
Given their big personalities, it is no wonder that we humans love to see such creatures in their natural habitats, in what is for many a rare and delightful encounter. Here in Oman, we are fortunate to have many opportunities to see these delightful animals.

Muscat International Airport is taking part in the 2019 Skytrax World’s Best Airport Survey competing against the best for the coveted award. The coveted Skytrax World Airport Awards are voted for by customers in the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. Often referred to as ‘the Oscars of the aviation industry’, the awards are a global benchmark of airport excellence where 12.85 million travelers representing 110 nationalities from around the world take part to decide the winners from a pool of 410 airports worldwide. The survey evaluates customer satisfaction across 39 key performance indicators for airport services and products from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration, through to departure at the gate.
Muscat International Airport was designed and constructed to the highest standards of quality and service, meeting the International Air Transport Association’s classification for top airports. Cruise ship with nearly 2,000 tourists docks in Oman
The last cruise ship of this season, the AIDA Bella, has landed today at Khasab harbour with 1958 tourists on port.
This information was revealed by the Ministry of Tourism.
A statement by the Ministry said that the AIDA Bella arrived today at Khasab with 1958 tourists on board as the last cruise ship to dock at Khasab harbour this season.
The tourists were welcomed by the specialists of the tourism directory in the Governorate of Musandam, who offered the tourists information guide booklets and directed them towards tourism companies.
