Places to see in ( King's Lynn - UK )
King's Lynn, known until 1537 as Bishop's Lynn, is a seaport and market town in Norfolk, England, about 97 miles north of London and 44 miles west of Norwich.
King's Lynn has two theatres, museums and other cultural and sporting venues. There are three secondary schools and one college. The service sector, information and communication technologies and creative industries, provide employment for the population of King's Lynn and the surrounding area.
King's Lynn is the northernmost settlement on the River Great Ouse, situated 97 miles (156 km) north of London and 44 miles (71 km) west of Norwich. The town of King's Lynn lies about 5 miles (8 km) south of the Wash, a fourfold estuary subject to dangerous tides and shifting sandbanks, on the north-west margin of East Anglia. King's Lynn has an area of 11 square miles (28 km2).
Tourism in King's Lynn is a minor industry but still attracts many visitors to its historic centre. The town acts as a base for visiting the Queen's home at Sandringham and other great country houses in the area. Within the town and stretching across the nearby Fenland are some of the finest historic churches in Britain, built at a time when King's Lynn and its hinterland were very wealthy from trade and wool. King's Lynn railway station is the only rail line providing rail transportation to King's Lynn, and is the terminus of the Fen Line.

Walking Weekend - King's Lynn 2016
This year the Walking Weekend took us to King's Lynn where we stayed at the Stuart House Hotel. On Saturday we walked from Sandringham House to Wolferton and had a look around The Royal Station, mum's flap jacks made another appearance. In the afternoon the 3 boys and i headed into King's Lynn town centre where dad couldn't resist his usual mischief and checking out the local Wetherspoons.
Day 2 kicked off with a warm up session (2:20) and a very windy walk along the beach from Heacham to Hunstanton, it's fair to say we earned our lunch. Cray golf also made the itinary, inevitability i lost!
And that was King's Lynn 2016 - Enjoy!

2014_11_24 RSPB Snettisham Geese
This video is about a visit to the RSPB reserve at Snettisham on the The Wash. During the winter months many tens of thousands of Pink-footed geese congregate on the East Coast of England and during the day they feed on root crops inland. Then at night they collect in large groups at safe roosting locations, one being on the mudflats and salt marshes near to RSPB Snettisham. Thus at dawn and at dusk visitors are treated to the fantastic spectacle of skeins of geese flying overhead accompanied by the birds calling to each other. This video was taken during a visit on Monday 24th November 2014.

The Extreeme Adventure Course at Weasenham, Norfolk, 01328 838720
Extreeme Adventure is a high ropes course built in the tallest trees in Eastern England, in beautiful Weasenham Woods, Norfolk --the oldest example of continuous cover forestry in the British Isles.
Hours of adrenaline rushing family fun (for those aged ten and over) which takes aerial trekking to new extremes. Swing, climb and zip at 20ft and 40ft. High up in the trees there are over twenty different elements to conquer including a 3G swing. For the more adventurous there is an 80ft platform from which a fan descender jump can be made as well as a 1000ft zip wire. Both respectively thought to be the longest and highest in the country!
Forget climbing walls - we also have tree climbing (with dry tooling for the very experienced) to heights of 65ft! Do this as an extra or as a group outing where teams may race each other over three way courses to the top.
After you've tried all the fun, enjoy chatting about your experiences in our Woodland Cafe where we serve snacks and hot and cold drinks.
For details on the Extreeme High Ropes Course and other activities please visit the website at ww.extreemeadventure.co.uk.
