Walking up Snowdon Llanberis path | Visit Snowdonia National Park Wales (UK) | Lizzy and I are visiting Snowdonia National Park Wales and walking up Snowdon on the Llanberis Path. We're onto Caernarfon Castle 0:04:16, an amazing castle in North Wales. Caernarfon Castle and Mount Snowdon in Snowdonia National Park are tied by myth.

Snowdon Walks, Pyg Track and Miners Track, Snowdonia National Park Walks In Gwynedd, Wales, UK
Snowdon Walks, Pyg Track and Miners Track, Snowdonia National Park Walks In Gwynedd, Wales, UK
This Snowdon Walks, Pyg Track and Miners Track route was about 7.5 miles in distance. This route uses the Pyg Track on the outward journey and the Miners' Track on the return journey. The starting point is over 335 metre or 1,100 feet high at the top of Llanberis Pass. The terrain of the route was a combination of well maintained rocky mountain paths plus a track. The walking was strenuous on slopes with some short level sections. There were two long steep ascents and one long steep descent with some very short sections of rock scrambling required. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.

Walking to Snowdon Summit in winter - Easy route for beginners
Walking to the summit of Mount Snowdon in winter is an amazing trek and one we'll never forget! It's one of my favourite things to do in Wales.
Situated in Snowdonia National Park, Snowdon is the tallest mountain in Wales standing just over a kilometre high above sea level.
This route for beginners is a 3.5-hour hike to the summit via the pyg rack followed by a 3 and a half hour scramble down the miners track on the return with stunning views and a break in the cloud from the top.

Climbing the Highest Mountain in Wales - SNOWDON ????⛰
Climbing Snowdon is the BEST hike I've ever done in the UK. Incredible views the entire way. What a beautiful day! This is my experience :)
Thanks so much to YHA for the accommodation!
I stayed at YHA Snowdonia Pen-Y-Pass which is THE place to stay if you are going to climb Snowdon, it is literally right next to the start point of the hike so couldn't be more convenient for an early start!
Thanks also to our lovely hiking guide Dan from RAW Adventures.
He took us a route that no one else went which was so much fun and incredible alternate views that were unique to just us!

Climbing Snowdon, Snowdon Tips & Staying at YHA Pen-y-Pass - Wales Road Trip Vlog 3
The last part of my Wales Road Trip was driving from South Wales to North Wales and of course climbing Snowdon. The highest Mountain in England and Wales.
I stayed at the YHA Pen-y-Pass Hostel which I loved, and it is in a fantastic location as it's right in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park and literally opposite the car park of Pen-y-Pass which is where 3 of the trails to the summit start.
The walk took me 5 hours in total which included a 45 minute stop at the top. I walked up the PYG Track and down the Miners Track. I was really happy with this route and would really recommend it to you too.
I was so glad I took some layers, plenty of water and snacks. I was also really pleased with what I wore- a cap, a breathable t-shirt, gym leggings, walking shoes and a good day pack.
This is the last of 3 videos from my Road Trip around Wales over 1 week. Be sure to check out the others!

Hiking Mount Snowdon: the HIGHEST PEAK in Wales UK
We visited Snowdonia National Park and looked for the best hiking trails in Snowdonia. We decided to summit Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales after staying at a nearby campsite. We opted for the Rhyd Ddu path for its outstanding views of the surrounding lakes.

Crib Goch knife edge ridge walk by Snowdon, Wales
Shot from a GoPro camera fitted to a head mount, this video shows the walk along the knife edge ridge of Crib Goch as part of the ascent of Snowdon in Snowdonia, Wales. The ridge is about 500 metres long with substantial precipitous drops to either side. There was some wind during our crossing of the ridge but nothing too fierce, and we were lucky to have great views across the valleys on both sides.

Hiking up Snowdon in Snowdonia National Park, Wales.
Went to Wales over New Years. Lots of beautiful hiking trails and on the second of January we went to hike up Snowdon and I took the opportunity to record some shots with my phone. finally managed to make a video out of it. Hope you like it!
Walking Mount Snowdon Via The Pyg & Miners' Track. Snowdonia, North Wales.
The Pyg and the Miners Tracks start at the same point. The car park here gets very full, and an early start is essential. It is not known how the Pyg Track got its name - it could be as it passes over the Pigs's Pass (Bwlch y Mocl), because it is close to the Pen y Gwryd Hotel, or because pyg, in welsh, also means pitch, and part of the surface of the path looks like black pitch. Whatever the origin, this path starts 1,170 feet above sea level which gives you a helpful start on the way. Much of this walk is rugged, and very challenging, but the scenery is interesting. The first part of this video shows views from the Pyg Track during the ascent to the summit. Once past the Pigs's Pass, the view down to the left shows the Miners' Track below.
The Miners' Track is a good walk to try if you want to walk on Snowdon but don't want to try to reach the summit as the first part is fairly gentle. Views from the descent using the Miner's Track are featured. It was built during the 1800's to serve Britannia Copper Mines which were abandonned in 1917. Mine Manager Arthur Lockwood drove his car to Llyn Glaslyn, and the track to this point at the lake still resembles a road so is a good walking surface. The track does get considerably steeper towards the summit but was fairly easy on our descent.
Best hiking route up Snowdon Summit - Trekking the Watkin path
Looking for the best hiking route up Snowdon in the Snowdonia National Park? The Watkin Path to the summit and to Crib Goch is by far my favourite route to date!
Snowdon is the tallest mountain in Wales, standing at over 1000 metres high in elevation. Most of the year it's shrouded in cloud with poor visibility, but this day was impeccably clear.
On this hike, I take you up the Watkin path, a hard route to the Snowdon Horseshoe where huge peaks tower over the glacial basin.
Then onward up to the summit over steep and rocky trails where I came across a helicopter delivering payloads of stone to engineers on the side of the mountain rebuilding the steps of the Watkin path leading to the top of Snowdon.
From there, I take you to the summit and past the Snowdon Railway to Crib Goch where incredible views of the Glaslyn and Llyn Lydaw lakes spoiled me.
I then make my way down to the water's edge for a beautiful sunset over the national park before hitchhiking back to the trailhead.
During the week, taxis are very few and far between so I recommend attempting a circuit of this if you drove, however the days are so short in February, I ran out of time as it's unsafe to walk the road back to Llyn Gwynant and many people have lost their lives, which is what the kind gentlemen who both gave me a ride continued to tell me.
Thanks for watching and happy hiking! This is one of the best things to do in Wales.

SNOWDONIA, WALES // EXPLORE UK
25th- 28th of August 2017 // Snowdonia - Zipworld, Mount Snowdon, Portmeirion, Caernarfon.
Previous Video:
This past bank holiday weekend was the perfect opportunity to visit a place we wanted to see since we moved to the UK, Snowdonia National Park. Chrissa, Shoyeb, Dory and I were in one car and Sarah and Lizzie in the other. Michael took a train up and joined us the next day. We rented out a beautiful stone build cottage in the countryside and first thing in the morning went to Zipworld, the fastest zip wire in the world and the longest in Europe. After we flew over the slate quarry we drove to the nearby Fforest Coaster, also by Zipworld and rode the super fun carts through the woods. While at the cottage we passed our time by cooking, eating, drinking and playing games.
On day two we started early in the morning to climb the second highest peak of the UK, Mount Snowdon. It was a truly (and literally) breathtaking experience and we enjoyed every second all the way to the top and back down.
We also tried to explore as many nice villages we could find.
Some of these were, Llanwrst, Portmeiron and Caernarfon.
On our drive back to London we stopped by Swallow falls and
Pontcysyllte Aquaduct.
Big thanks to Sarah for organise it!
Also a big thank you to Zipwold for having us!
