SNOWDONIA, WALES // EXPLORE UK
25th- 28th of August 2017 // Snowdonia - Zipworld, Mount Snowdon, Portmeirion, Caernarfon.
Previous Video:
This past bank holiday weekend was the perfect opportunity to visit a place we wanted to see since we moved to the UK, Snowdonia National Park. Chrissa, Shoyeb, Dory and I were in one car and Sarah and Lizzie in the other. Michael took a train up and joined us the next day. We rented out a beautiful stone build cottage in the countryside and first thing in the morning went to Zipworld, the fastest zip wire in the world and the longest in Europe. After we flew over the slate quarry we drove to the nearby Fforest Coaster, also by Zipworld and rode the super fun carts through the woods. While at the cottage we passed our time by cooking, eating, drinking and playing games.
On day two we started early in the morning to climb the second highest peak of the UK, Mount Snowdon. It was a truly (and literally) breathtaking experience and we enjoyed every second all the way to the top and back down.
We also tried to explore as many nice villages we could find.
Some of these were, Llanwrst, Portmeiron and Caernarfon.
On our drive back to London we stopped by Swallow falls and
Pontcysyllte Aquaduct.
Big thanks to Sarah for organise it!
Also a big thank you to Zipwold for having us!

Snowdonia - National Park - North Wales
The English name for the area derives from Snowdon, which is the highest mountain in Wales at 3,560 ft (1,085 m). In Welsh, the area is named Eryri. One assumption is that the name is derived from eryr (eagle), but others state that it means quite simply Highlands, as leading Welsh scholar Sir Ifor Williams proved. In the Middle Ages the title Prince of Wales and Lord of Snowdonia (Tywysog Cymru ac Arglwydd Eryri) was used by Llywelyn ap Gruffudd; his grandfather Llywelyn Fawr used the title Prince of north Wales and Lord of Snowdonia.

SNOWDONIA National Park Wales
Snowdonia is a region in northwest Wales concentrated around the mountains and glacial landforms of massive Snowdonia National Park. The park's historic Snowdon Mountain Railway climbs to the summit of Wales's highest mountain, Mount Snowdon, offering views across the sea to Ireland. The park is also home to an extensive network of trails, over 100 lakes and craggy peaks like Cader Idris and Tryfan.
