Snowtubing in the Alpes!
White Lives - Full 2004 'Snow Sliding' (Ski/snowboard) Movie -Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, Avoriaz
Produced in 2004 as a personal DVD for the people that appeared in the film, White Lives was pulled together from video shot through the nineties with some sequences (Freestyle Extreme Bungee Skateboarding) shot specially for this film.
It was shot in the French resorts of Tignes, Val d'Isere, Les Arcs and Avoriaz over a number of seasons.
The most advanced cameras available to us at the time were DV cameras and the film includes footage shot on Hi8 and even VHS-C cameras. As such the video quality is 'variable'. I wish we had had access then to the technology we have access to today - but then again I wish today I had access to a bunch of people so willing to throw themselves down and off things as I did back then.
The video contains copyrighted music so I have always been reluctant to upload, but now that YouTube allows the original music rights owners to monetise music used in uploaded videos I'm happy to share knowing that they can stake their rightful claim. The music is integral to the film, so I hope rights holders will permit its use here.
