James B. Comey, '85: Law Enforcement and the Communities We Serve
James B. Comey, class of 1985, is the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Recorded on October 23, 2015, at the University of Chicago Law School.
Jo Stafford
Jo Elizabeth Stafford was an American traditional pop music singer and occasional actress, whose career spanned five decades from the late 1930s to the early 1980s. Admired for the purity of her voice, she originally underwent classical training to become an opera singer before following a career in popular music, and by 1955 had achieved more worldwide record sales than any other female artist. Her 1952 song You Belong to Me topped the charts in the United States and United Kingdom, the record becoming the first by a female artist to reach number one on the U.K. Singles Chart.
Born in Coalinga, California, Stafford made her first musical appearance at age twelve. While still at high school she joined her two older sisters to form a vocal trio named The Stafford Sisters, who enjoyed moderate success on radio and in film. In 1938, while the sisters were part of the cast of Twentieth Century Fox's production of Alexander's Ragtime Band, Stafford met the future members of The Pied Pipers and became the group's lead singer. Bandleader Tommy Dorsey hired them in 1939 to perform back-up vocals for his orchestra.

COB Centennial Celebration Gala - November 13, 2015
Nearly 500 alumni, faculty, students and friends came together on Friday, November 13, 2015 to celebrate 100 years of Mississippi State University's College of Business. The College of Business Centennial Celebration Gala was held at the newly renovated Mill Conference Center Ballroom in Starkville, MS.
MSU's College of Business was founded October 15, 1915 and is the oldest business school in the Magnolia State.
Over the last 100 years, the college has produced more than 33,000 alumni, hailing from all 50 states and more than 150 countries.
Renowned comedian, actor, best-selling author, and TV host Steve Harvey served as the keynote speaker for the Gala, sharing how he used imagination and faith to climb from an early adulthood in which he spent three years homeless to having the career and lifestyle he enjoys today. He encouraged those in attendance to tap into their imaginations and entrepreneurial spirits, as well, to make their dreams come true.
“If one day you want to soar, you first have to jump,” Harvey said. “Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent what you do about it.”
As part of the evening's event, the College of Business also recognized the college’s top 100 alumni from the last century-- as voted by their fellow COB alumni-- more than 40 of whom were on-hand that evening. Also a fundraiser for the college, the gala included a formal dinner and silent auction.
Why Strippers Are Becoming Bartenders (HBO)
Strip clubs may be a place to party for some, but for female entertainers, they are an office space. And over the past few years that workplace has changed dramatically thanks to an entirely new job position moving in: bartenders.
Even though bartenders don’t get up on stage, the strip club bartenders dress similarly to the dancers and shake it behind the bar. Because customers tend to throw money into the air as they would to a dancer, rather than handing them the money directly, bartenders have found themselves fighting with surrounding employees, including dancers, to acquire their tips.
Some strippers have started to organize a city wide strike to address the competition between the women, along with other issues that affect the industry.
“I’ve had resentment as a dancer, I remember resenting bartenders,” Chela, who recently transitioned from dancing to bartending, tells VICE News. “It becomes very aggressive. People forget who they are when they start to see money.”

Life as a Truck-Stop Stripper
Everyone knows what charming places strip clubs can be, but perhaps there is no club so charming as one in Moriarty, New Mexico—a truck stop with taxidermy and the bras of former employees on the walls, a few poles, a shitload of black light, and plenty of titties. Never mind that The Ultimate Strip Club List website describes it as the place where strippers go to die.
Natalia Leite and Alexandra Roxo go Gonzo as they pose as strippers and experience something that can be best described as a Marina Abramovic performance crossed with a bizarro episode of Wife Swap directed by David Lynch's daughters, set in the type of place where a one eyed guy who shot himself in the head dispenses meditation advice to two naked women.
