Welcome to the first video in my series on life in Japan!
In this first video, I venture to Omura, Japan in Nagasaki prefecture to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossom flowers.
Hanami, the Japanese word for cherry blossom viewing, is all about relaxing with friends, eating well and having great conversations.
This video features some beautiful footage of Japanese sakura trees, Drew Badger speaking Japanese with some local kids, and two great tips to improve your spoken English.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Nagoya (名古屋) is the largest city in the Chūbu region of Japan. It is Japan's fourth-largest incorporated city and the third-most-populous urban area. It is located on the Pacific coast on central Honshu. It is the capital of Aichi Prefecture and is one of Japan's major ports along with those of Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Yokohama, Chiba, and Kitakyushu. It is also the center of Japan's third-largest metropolitan region, known as the Chūkyō metropolitan area. As of 2015, 2.28 million people lived in the city, part of Chūkyō Metropolitan Area's 10.11 million people.
It is also one of the 50 largest urban areas in the world.
