Solang Nala (Valley) derives its name from combination of words Solang (Nearby village) and Nullah (water stream). It is a side valley at the top of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, India 14 km northwest of the resort town Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass, and is known for its summer and winter sport conditions. The sports most commonly offered are parachuting, paragliding, skating and zorbing.

Giant slopes of lawn comprise Solang Valley and provide its reputation as a popular ski resort. A few ski agencies offering courses and equipment reside here and operate only during winters.

Snow melts during the summer months starting May and skiing is then replaced by zorbing (a giant ball with room for 2 people which is rolled down a 200 metre hill), paragliding, parachuting and horse riding. A ropeway was recently opened.[1] Going to the summit can be possible by ATVs, Ropeway or Climbing (Trekking)

Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It's also a jumping-off point for paragliding, rafting, and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass.

Located at a distance of 14 km from Manali, Solang Valley is a well-renowned destination for adventure activities in Himachal Pradesh. People who are bored with their life monotony and want to try some offbeat things in Manali can indulge adrenaline pumping adventure activities like paragliding, parachuting, and skiing. Solang is not just about adventure, it also offers a beautiful view of snow-capped peaks, lush green mountains, apple orchards, and lakes makes it a hotspot for the people visiting in Manali.
Opening hours: Unlike the Rohtang Valley, Solang is open throughout the year. However, you can try adventure sports only between 9 A.M and 5 P.M.
For skiing, the ideal time is between 10 A.M and 2 P.M.

Gulaba-
Gulaba is a small village near Manali which is located on the road to Rohtang pass. Named after Raja Gulab Singh of Kashmir, the village of Gulaba is flanked by the picturesque beauty of snow covered mountains, grasslands and the Beas river that washes away its landscapes. Owing to such an amazing topography. Being reputed as a heavy snowfall region, the landscapes of Gulaba have turned out to be a hub for adventure sports.

It cost me Rs.5000 to experience Manali (inclusive of travel (from Delhi, food, accommodation, and all additional cost). It was an awesome experience. Me and my friend planned to take a trip to Manali in December. We wanted to experience snow in Manali and we did. I have put together the places to visit in Manali during winter to experience snow. Some of the places we visited include Gulaba, Solang valley, Jogini waterfalls and we also hiked to the Shiv temple in Solang valley. Manali during winter is awesome, you get to witness snowfall in Manali and it will definitely be an unforgettable experience.
Budget breakdown:
Bus from Delhi to Manali - Rs.1100
Bus from Manali to Delhi - Rs.1400
Accommodation - Rs.350 x3 days - Rs 1050

Hi guys , this is karan.

This is the 1st day of our 3 day manali trip where the maximum time we spent was in SOLANG VALLEY where we witnessed heavy Snowfall. This was the first time when i was witnessing solang valley . It was such a great experience .
