Tromsø, where your Arctic adventure begins! ❄

The city is located 350 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle and is the largest city in Northern Norway. Many people come to Tromsø to see the northern lights in winter and the midnight sun in summer.

Tromsø is in the process of being certified as a Sustainable Destination, a seal of approval given to destinations that work systematically to reduce the negative impact of tourism. In addition to providing visitors with enjoyable experiences, Tromsø wishes to preserve the local nature, culture and environment.

We also visited Sommarøy which is an island of Troms, too. It is a fishing village that is only 36 km from Tromsø and has incredible beaches and landscapes.

La ciudad se encuentra a 350 kilómetros al norte del Círculo Polar Ártico y es la mayor urbe del Norte de Noruega. Es ideal para ver las auroras boreales en invierno y el sol de medianoche en verano.

Tromsø está en proceso de ser certificada como Destino Sostenible, una distinción de calidad que se otorga a aquellos destinos que trabajan de manera continuada para reducir el impacto medioambiental del turismo.

Además visitamos Sommarøy que también es una isla de Troms. Se trata de un pueblo pesquero que está a tan solo 36 km de Tromsø y tiene unas playas y paisajes increíbles.

PRZEPRASZAM za nagłe zakończenie LAJF'a. Niestety bateria nie dała rady na mrozie ;)

W dzisiejszym LAJF'ie jesteśmy w okolicach mostu na wyspie Sommaroy w Norwegii. Temperatura dośc przyjemna, około -2 stopnie, wiatru prawie nie ma więc robienie zdjęć jest bardzo przyjemne. Tym razem przepiękna zatoka, otoczona łańcuchami górskimi i podzielona mostem.

W dzisiejszym LAJF'ie zapraszam Was na wspólne fotografowanie na stokach wokół pięknie położonej miejscowości Sommaroy w Norwegii. Nie jest jeszcze bardzo zimno, ale wiatr powoduje odczuwanie temperatury około -10 stopni. Do tego mnóstwo śniegu i cudowne widoki. Już po pierwszym dniu wiem, że wrócimy jeszcze do Norwegii ;)

Every winter Orcas and Whales travel to the coast of Northern Norway. By taking a three hour trip from Tromso and transferring to a RIB boat, you have an ability to spend an hour surrounded by those amazing mammals!

Arctic (Tromsøya, Sommarøy, Kvaløya)

Sommarøy - a superscenic island outside Tromsø!

It’s just about three weeks since we filmed this forth episode of The Scenic Stuff, and since then we’ve gone from autumn to full on winter here in Tromsø … well, we just can’t edit videos fast enough to keep up with the changing seasons up north it seems. But anyhow, this episode is about the extraordinary scenic qualities of a small island called Sommarøy, where we try to capture the beauty of the place as the sun is getting gradually lower until it’s just a faint glow under the horizon in the ocean out west.

We got the chance to test the lowlight capability on the Mavic Pro 2 drone, and it was pretty impressing that it managed to capture the last remains of light that well.

We also had a close encounter with a bird that we after a lengthy debate managed to find the right English name and pronunciation for… it was a grouse. Not grose or gruse, but grrrooouse!
